Bush and Beach safari in Kenya
5/5

We had an amazing experience with Bush thorns adventures and Safari’s. Samuel and Joseph were our guides and came with vast experience and photography skills. We traveled with children from Nairobi across the country to the beaches of Diani. We saw Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli (Kilimanjaro), Diani beach and Mombasa. We were facilitated with our own private custom land cruiser to suit the rough Kenyan terrains for the whole trip and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it to all.

The best tour operator I’ve ever had!!!
5/5

I initially asked for 3 quotations for my 7-days safari in Kenya (Masai Mara-Amboseli-Nakuru-Naivasha). All 3 tours companies replied me right away but Ms Yvonne Ateka from Budget Holiday Safaris was by far the most outstanding and patient in answering dozens of my questions concerning visa, safety, accommodation, preparation, etc… She was also extremely flexible in helping me changing my safari schedule due to my unexpected 2-days delay at transit airport New Delhi.

The entire tour was fascinating!!! It was the very best trip I’ve ever had (I’ve travelled 30+ countries so far)! Kenyan nature and wildlife is breathtakingly beautiful even more than I’ve imagined before…

Our tour guide Eric was very caring, knowledgeable and a super offroad driver.

Thank you so much again Yvonne & Eric for making my trip in Kenya a great experience! I would wholeheartedly recommend you guys for all my friends travelling to you amazing country!

A sidenote: for those who don’t know - please do not take photographs in Nairobi’s CBD (Central Business District)! It’s against Nairobi city regulation and may get you into big trouble!

Johny was excellent from the moment we met him until the end.
5/5

First, the communication with Axis was always top notch. We communicated with Lennox when planning and booking the safari. He always responded quickly to our questions. We had flight cancellations and Lennox was great with helping us shift dates and find our accommodations. He was always there to assist with everything.

We traveled from Nairobi to Naivasha to Nakuru before entering the Mara. Johny was an excellent driver and guide the entire trip. He was well respected among the other guides and in the Mara many guides were asking for his assistance.

We stayed at Lake Naivasha Simba lodge, Sarova Lion Hill, and finally Ashnil Luxury Camp in the Mara. All places were excellent. Great rooms and food.

Johny was able to guide us to the Big 5. It was evident he really cares about his job as a guide and has great respect for the animals and sanctuaries.

We are planning returning again in a few years to do another trip with Axis!

Review about Arusha National Park by Maria
Overall rating
5/5

The Ruaha park is a gem offering a large variety of colourful landscape and vegetation ( rivers, flat and dry terrain, hills , rocky area, with many plant species including many Baobab trees in certain areas, and combining dry and green areas in August ). We really appreciated there were extremely few jeeps inside the Ruaha park, so we could get an authentic feeling of being on a safari, and it was possible to drive for long distances and many hours without meeting another jeep. Be aware however that in this park you will not see dense packs of animals like buffalos, zebras, antelopes like you can see in the Serengeti park. You will find more sparced and smaller groups of animals within a larger park.

A small park that is well worth the visit.

Lake Nakuru National Park is well worth the visit. While the flocks of flamingos are apparently not what they once were, there were plenty around and seeing that many birds was mesmerizing. We also saw big herds of Rothschild's giraffes (a very beautiful subspecies) as well as an abundance of zebras, buffalo, waterbucks, and gazelles. A few lions, jackals, and hyenas also made appearances. We only saw two hippos. According to our guides that was lucky so this site may be a bit mistaken to say hippos are common in the area. While I am not a hardcore birder, there is plenty for birders to enjoy. We saw guinea fowl, African fish eagles, marbou storks, Egyptian geese, a hooded vulture, lilac-breasted rollers, and plenty of others. If you go stay at the Lake Nakuru Lodge. Baboons roam the grounds, there is a waterhole near the restaurant that attracted warthogs and zebras, and there is a great view of the lake. Bring your binoculars!

One week of Safari on the south of Tanzania. an excellent guide from Pangolin African Safari. 3 parks showed a great diversity of landscape and wildlife.
This was followed by one week in zanzibar island. Very relaxing .

Everything was perfect and eager to come back to visit other places in Tanzania

Thank you Kitonga Tours for a fantastic Safari trip!

I am writing a review as we found that organizing a safari in Tanzania without going through an agent has been very complex.
Costs are extremely high and how to know if the company you are hiring is any good for the price?

We are a French/Danish family with two children (11 and 15 years) that went to game drive in the beautiful, large and less crowded Ruaha national park with a total of 5 nights of which 3 nights were spent inside the park in August 2022 (we stayed the 2 other nights in transit in Iringa).
We chose to travel by jeep from Dar Es Salaam to the Ruaha park and even though it is a long journey of approx. 12 hours to Iringa, we were very happy to have done it as it gave us a great possibility to see and enjoy The Tanzanian countryside.
All the details of the 6 days (5 nights) trip package were coordinated via email/sms with Paul (our guide) and everything was delivered without flaw. We met Gerald the owner of the company in Iringa, a very simpatic and smiley man before driving further via a long and bumpy dirt road to the Ruaha park entrance.

Paul (guide) and Isa (our driver and guide) were both with us the entire trip and did everything they could to accommodate our wishes and always arrived on time when we were to be picked up in the morning.
Isa was an excellent driver on road (feeling very safe including when we drove from Dar Es Salaam to Ruaha) and off road before and in the park (agile and comfortable)
Their safari jeep was in excellent condition and very comfortable to sit in and with a small refrigerator to keep the water bottles cool. We felt safe at all times.
Isa and Paul were very helpful in spotting animals - we saw all the big five (among others) except the Rhino that does not live in the park.
We ended the tour having a great and relaxed relationship with them. Both are really nice and sympathetic people.

We can highly recommend a tour organised with Kitonga Tours. Kitonga Tours will also be highly capable to organise safari tours to all other national parks in Tanzania.

The Murchison Falls National Park is just amazing. We had the chance to see the big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and hippo). On our way to the park, we've made a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary as well.

The Murchison Falls are just breathtaking. It's a must see if you travel to Uganda.

Clyde from Tailormade Africa put together an epic once-in-a-lifetime trip that was par-excellence!
5/5

Clyde and I started discussing our African safari trip over a year ago. My husband and I were thinking about embarking on a month-long trip to Eastern and Southern Africa to celebrate my milestone birthday. I had done some research and kind of knew what we wanted to do and so I reached out to 4 tour operators and asked them to send me their proposals. The highlight of our trip was going to be the migration and viewing the river crossings of the wildebeest in the Serengeti. Needless to say I picked Clyde because of his intimate knowledge of the country and his insistence to pick a camp on the north side of the Mara, the reason being that you want to see the wildebeest cross the river from the opposite bank coming towards you. Best decision we ever made!!
I discussed every detail of the trip with Clyde for over a year: things that were non-negotiable and had to be included (Giraffe Manor), experiences that we wanted to include, some that Clyde talked me out of (thankful for that!), the time of year that would be best to view the migration, covid hiccups, safety, how to travel, the kind of luggage we needed, Visas required and so on. Clyde was always a WhatsApp call or text away and at no time did I feel that he was actually across the pond in the UK. The travel arrangements were made and our 30-day journey went as smoothly and seamlessly as one could only hope for. We travelled across 5 countries and stayed in over 10 camps, some of which were very remote and getting to them involved changing small planes at different airstrips. On arrival there was always a jeep and guide waiting to pick us up and each and every camp was special and had its own charm! They were spotlessly clean and the food was great. The service was excellent, all the guides went out of their way to ensure that we got the best safari experience , plus they were a great fount of knowledge! Let's just say that we came away much better informed about animals in the wild and their behaviours. At no point in time did we feel unsafe or threatened, nor did we get sick for the entire duration of the trip. Along the way, Clyde had made special arrangements for the camps to have lovely surprises waiting for us in the form of a bottle of champagne or a bathtub prepared with roses and chocolates or a special birthday cake after dinner. These gestures were much appreciated and shows the kind of attention to detail that Clyde and Tailormade Africa provided. We managed to see all of the Big 5, the ugly 5 and most everything in-between! We saw hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, herds of elephants and buffalo, hundreds of zebras and antelope, lots of giraffes and of course 3 river crossings which Clyde had guaranteed that we would see atleast one. We ended our trip in Cape Town and Franschhoek and Clyde had organized sightseeing tours for us in South Africa as well and booked dinners at some amazing restaurants there. Clyde planned a trip that we will remember for the rest of our lives and it was well worth the cost! I highly recommend Clyde for any African itinerary given his intimate knowledge of Africa and his first-hand experience of being a guide in Zimbabwe.
