Incredible Day at Pilanesberg
Our day at the safari was magical and one that we will remember for the rest of our lives!!!
We went on the full day safari in early May. Our driver picked us up a little before 6 am and we did the rounds to the other hotels to pick up the other folks. Our safari driver was Tumi and he was wonderful. He was informative and friendly, but also didn't talk the whole time, which gave us an opportunity to just enjoy the scenery.
We saw a lot of animals, some very up close and personal, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, impalas, and leopards. We even saw a leopard take down an impala - it was like National Geographic in real life!
A few items that may be helpful:
- It was pretty chilly at the first part of the day. I would bring plenty of layers, or even a blanket for your lap, especially when the driver starts going fast to catch a sighting reported by one of the other guides. A winter hat, ear muffs, or a scarf would have also been helpful.
- We sat in the back row of the truck and it ended up being an ideal spot for seeing the animals. All the seats are good, and it all depends on where the animals are, but we did spot many animals where others couldn't see them as well, and then our guide would adjust the truck so that everyone could see.
- We didn't have binoculars and we still saw plenty. If you have binoculars bring them, but we didn't feel deprived without them.
- A very specific tip: the road can get VERY bumpy. For my fellow busty ladies, plan your undergarments appropriately :)
- The lunch site did have some hungry guinea fowl and sweets loving bees. If anyone is allergic or scared of bees, stay away from the condiments tray and sodas. We were fine until the condiments came out and then the bees found us.
- The truck is roomy, so don't be afraid to pack what you think you may need, like layers, water, snacks, sunscreen.
- My husband and I went together, but commented that our 11 year old daughter may not have enjoyed it since there were quiet spells between animal sightings and a lot of sitting and driving. There were kids on some of the other trucks, but I would say trust your judgement of your kids' tolerance for sitting, waiting, and being quiet during animal viewing.
- We received a text the night before with a confirmed pick up time for our driver.
- With the early morning pick up, the drive out of town is an ideal moment for a nap. We needed dramamine to avoid car sickness, but in hindsight probably would have brought a travel pillow as well.
- At the lunch spot and at end of the day there were some vendors selling carvings and other goods. The ones at the end of the day did a hard sell, so don't approach unless you're ready for that. I got a really beautiful elephant carving to remember the day!

The best of the best
We had a wonderful experience at the Mara.We definitely made sight of the Big Five. I thank our able Driver Guide Mr. David who ensured we were served to our best. I would without hesitation recommend Jocky safaris to anyone who would wish to have a great time in the country's exciting destinations.

Soweto Tour
This was an excellent tour!! Five stars for Itu, who did an awesome job. He showed us some of Johannesburg on our way to Soweto. The Soweto tour itself was amazing, learning the historical significance of this township was enlightening. Seeing close up how the people live is interesting. Itu is a great guide and we appreciate everything he did for us. Thanks again, Itu!

Wild and natural- an untamed destination
Enjoyed my safari to south luangwe national park and the booking went really smoothly. Your company, Ntanda tours, who offered the itinerary and safari bookings were really communicative and I got fast and helpful responses. Would use safari bookings again to find possible tours and itineraries.

Uganda is rich and diverse in all it nature.
My trip to Uganda was drying the month of April. I was told it was going to be raining but quite the opposite happened and it turned out to be mostly sunny the entire week.
I did my tour with Home to Africa and my tour guide was William. The tour company was great and flexible around my timings and requests.
I managed to see everything that was offered and more. Uganda a is rich is its nature and diverse in its wildlife. I particularly enjoyed all my stays as all the lodges were accommodating and the people are ever so gracious. The food is over flowing and flavourful and I only wish I could stay longer.
I especially enjoyed the majestic elephants and the Gorillas. The country certainly has an abundance and co exist freely especially in todays world.
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip in Uganda and am certainly looking forward to my next trip back.
