A wonderfull peacefull place, with a lot of wildlife. Giraffe, buffalo, waterbuck, elephants, zebra and the beautiful Grevy's zebra. Also Lion, leopard and cheetah are also quite easy to spot. The gerenuks wich stand on their hind legs to feed are great to see.

The landscape is rich and varied with hills and plains, wood, grassland and a river that runs through.

Excellent widlife, warm weather and soul food. Great to feel the fresh air as it blows through your hair and across your face on an open game vehicle. The smells and sounds of the bush excite you to the core. Viewing close up sightngs of the largest land animals like Giraffe and Elephant can leave on feeling humble and speach less. This should be on evry persons Bucket list! And I will be back.............

The safari destinations in Kenya vary greatly. They are sometimes busy, but, if you choose with care, you can usually achieve a great "bush vibe".

The Abaredares National Park is 750 sqkm large mountain range south of Mount Kenia. Unlike the other parks in Kenia ist covered with dense forests and swampy highl ands which are rarely visited. Most visitors just stay overnight in on of the two lodges (the ark, treetops), watching the wildlife around the salt ponds close by.
The wildlife contains mainly elephants and buffalos in great numbers as well as waterbucks and other antelopes, hyenas and rarely leopards and the giant forest hog.
If you stay a day longer a trip throgh the forests to highlands can be organised. You might spot Sykes and Colobus monkeys in the forests and can visit the nice waterfalls.
Protection by a KWS ranger is mandatory.
