Elephants Under the Snows of Kilimanjaro

4/5 Reviewed By: Stuart Butler Visited: October

Amboseli National Park is one of the classic parks of Kenya and a staple on most Kenyan safari circuits. Quite rightly it’s best known for its elephants and there are large herds of big tuskers here (these are some of the best studied elephants in Africa) who are completely unfazed by cars,...

Amboseli was very rewarding for me, especially because Mount Kilimanjaro showed up clearly. I can imagine the experience feeling very different when the mountain is hidden by clouds, since it is such a big part of the scenery there.

The animals were, of course, magnificent. Though I could only see it in the morning, Kilimanjaro was beautiful. And when you go to Lake Amboseli, a landscape like a Windows PC desktop photo spreads out before your eyes.
