The Marangu Route, known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the only Kilimanjaro route that offers accommodation in mountain huts. It approaches the mountain from the south-east and follows a steady, gradual trail. While considered more comfortable due to hut lodging, the route requires good physical fitness because acclimatization is more limited. The route offers classic Kilimanjaro scenery, including rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and glacial summit landscapes.
