The start of this tour will be from your hotel early in the morning and a drive of around 3 hours to reach Ngorongoro Park which is 75 miles west of Arusha. The 4x4 vehicle crosses over the escarpment or lip of the caldera and descends onto the floor of the crater. The caldera measures between 10 and 12 miles (16 and 19 km) across and has an area of 102 square miles (264 square km) and is described as the world's largest concentration of wildlife on earth.
