Lake Nakuru is located in the Great Rift Valley and is one of Kenya’s key wildlife sanctuaries. It lies within Nakuru County, a productive agricultural area, near Nakuru town, which has grown into one of the region’s major centers due to agriculture and tourism. Nakuru is also an important sanctuary for endangered black rhinos. After visiting Lake Nakuru, you continue to the Masai Mara National Reserve, a drive of about 6 hours. The Masai Mara is world-famous as the home of the great migration.
