The park covers an area of 1,279sqkm. Elgon is the fourth highest mountain in Eastern Africa with the second highest peak in Uganda Wagagi peak. Mountain Elgon is a popular destination for nature lovers providing an exclusive domain for back packers with numerous birding trails.
