From your hotel we tour the heartbeat of the gold reef, a sprawling "township" that led the children's uprising against apartheid in 1976, and that is world-famous for its culture, history and resistance. We visit a number of iconic sites after our tour of the Apartheid Museum, each with many stories, including the famous Vilikazi Street (formerly home to two Nobel Prize winners), the memorial to the victims of the 1976 revolt, and enjoy an African lunch at Soweto's most famous tavern.
