The Machame route is the most popular and successful path to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Hikers camp in tents, with porters transporting the gear up the mountain. This route is not only stunningly scenic but is typically completed in 6 days; however, we recommend taking 7 days to allow for better acclimatization. The success of the Machame route lies in its topography, which enables hikers to ascend to higher elevations during the day and descend to lower altitudes.
