Day 1

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Big Time Adventures. After a brief introduction, your professional driver-guide will assist with your luggage and provide a short overview of your upcoming safari. You’ll then embark on a comfortable, scenic drive from the airport to Arusha, a journey of approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, where you will check into your hotel.

Arusha, known as the "Safari Capital of Tanzania," is a vibrant town nestled between Mount Meru and the Serengeti plains, offering the perfect starting point for your safari adventure. Upon arrival, you will have time to relax and unwind in your hotel before enjoying a welcome dinner at the lodge, where you can have a chance for your tour briefing by one of Big Time Adventures representative.

Day 2

Begin your adventure with a short drive from Under the Shade Safari Lodge to Arusha National Park, located just an Hour drive. This scenic park offers diverse landscapes, from lush montane forests to the striking Momella Lakes and the towering Mount Meru.

Upon arrival, meet your professional Ranger for a walking safari, a unique opportunity to explore the park’s wildlife on foot. This guided walk takes you through rich vegetation and offers the chance to observe smaller wildlife, birds, and the park’s stunning flora up close. Your guide will share fascinating insights into the ecosystem, animal tracks, and natural history.

After your walk, enjoy a picnic lunch in one of the park’s scenic areas, surrounded by nature. Spend the afternoon on a game drive through the park, where you may encounter giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and various primates. In the late afternoon, return to Arusha for your overnight stay at Under the Shade Safari Lodge.

After breakfast in Arusha, your safari adventure begins with a scenic 2 to 2.5-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. As you approach the park, your excitement will grow as you enter one of Tanzania's most captivating wildlife destinations.
Upon arrival, embark on a full-day game drive, exploring the park's diverse ecosystems, including open savannahs, riverine woodlands, and swamps. The park is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and an array of bird species. Keep an eye out for predators such as lions and leopards, often seen in the park's diverse landscapes. A picnic lunch will be provided at a scenic spot within the park, allowing you to enjoy your meal while surrounded by nature. After lunch, continue your game drive, exploring more of the park’s wildlife-rich areas.
In the late afternoon, you'll exit the park and drive to Eileens Tree Inn for dinner/overnight.

After breakfast in Karatu, begin your journey towards Serengeti National Park. On the way, stop at the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world's most famous wildlife destinations. Descend into the crater for a half-day game drive, where you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and the rare black rhino. Your expert guide will share insights into the unique ecosystem of the crater, which sustains an incredible density of wildlife year-round.

The fertile floor of the crater is teeming with animals, and the panoramic views from the rim provide excellent photo opportunities. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the crater, surrounded by the beauty of the landscape. After lunch, continue your game drive before ascending the crater and continuing your journey to the Serengeti.
Arrive in the Serengeti in the late afternoon and check into Heritage Camp for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast in the Serengeti, enjoy a scenic on-transit game drive from Central Serengeti to Arusha, offering breathtaking views of the wildlife and surrounding landscapes.

Upon arrival in Arusha, our tour consultant will meet you at Arusha Coffee Lodge for a debriefing while you enjoy a delicious meal surrounded by lush coffee plantations. The serene atmosphere provides the perfect opportunity to relax after your safari adventure. You may also take a short walk around the lodge’s coffee estate before continuing your journey.

After lunch, your guide will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure. The drive takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, allowing you ample time to check in and complete your departure formalities. Alternatively, you may choose to extend your trip with a relaxing beach holiday in Zanzibar.

As you head home, you’ll carry with you unforgettable memories of your incredible Tanzania safari with Big Time Adventures.
