Your safari begins upon arrival in Nairobi, where you’ll be met at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Hotel and transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Amboseli. A scenic 45-minute flight brings you to the heart of elephant country, with views of Mount Kilimanjaro welcoming you into the wild. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to Elewana Tortilis Camp, nestled in Amboseli National Park. After lunch and some relaxation, enjoy your first afternoon game drive, likely spotting elephants, giraffes, and possibly big cats, all set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Kilimanjaro. Cap off the day with a gourmet dinner at camp.

Fullday in Amboseli

Today is dedicated to exploring Amboseli’s dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife. Begin with an early morning game drive, when wildlife is most active, and the views of Mount Kilimanjaro are clearest. After breakfast back at the lodge, you can relax by the pool or opt for a guided bush walk with a Maasai guide to learn about the ecosystem from a local perspective. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive or take part in a cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village. Return to camp for dinner under the stars, soaking in the sounds of the African night.

Flying to Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive en route to the airstrip, where you’ll board your flight to the Masai Mara, with a brief connection through Nairobi. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to Elewana Sand River Masai Mara, a stylish 1920s-inspired camp set in a secluded area near the Tanzanian border. Following lunch and a chance to settle in, you’ll head out for your first Mara game drive, with excellent chances of seeing lions, elephants, and cheetahs. Return to camp in time for a sundowner followed by dinner in the elegant dining area.

Today you’ll explore the Masai Mara in depth. You can choose to begin the day with an optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise (pre-booking required), or head out on an early morning game drive. Spend the day traversing the vast plains in search of the Big Five and other iconic species. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration or dramatic predator-prey interactions. Enjoy a picnic lunch out in the bush before continuing your game drive. Return to camp for a relaxing evening and share stories of the day’s sightings over dinner.

In the afternoon, consider a visit to a nearby Maasai community or simply relax and take in the views from your tent’s private verandah.
