Day 1

Diani to Amboseli

Diani to Amboseli

Your safari begins early with a hotel pick-up and a scenic drive to Amboseli National Park. As you approach, the landscape opens into vast plains set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon entering the park, you begin your first game drive across Amboseli’s iconic savannahs, home to large herds of free-roaming elephants. The morning light offers excellent visibility, allowing you to spot giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hyenas, lions, and diverse birdlife. After an exciting morning, you proceed to your lodge or camp for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, you return for another extended game drive, exploring the marshes where elephants gather to cool off. With Kilimanjaro often visible in the distance, this time of day provides outstanding photography opportunities. As the sun sets over the plains, you head back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the Amboseli wilderness.

You begin your game drive toward the lodge, watching for elephants coated in Tsavo’s famous red dust, along with lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and abundant birdlife. After lunch and a short rest at the lodge, you head out for an afternoon game drive, exploring key areas such as Aruba Dam a major water source that attracts many animals throughout the day. This last drive gives you the chance to see species you may have missed earlier and to enjoy the park’s natural beauty one more time. Afterward, you return to the lodge for breakfast and a little time to unwind before checking out. As you exit the park, you enjoy a final game drive, capturing your last sightings of wildlife against Tsavo’s expansive backdrop.
