Transfer from Kigali To Volcanoes National Park

Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or from Kigali International Airport at 9:00 am. After a warm welcome and a brief orientation, you’ll start with an optional Kigali city tour, where you may visit landmarks such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, or artisan craft centers for a taste of the city’s culture and history.

After the tour, begin your journey to Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy a relaxed and scenic drive through Rwanda’s iconic rolling hills, charming villages, and lush countryside—perfect moments to appreciate the beauty of the “Land of a Thousand Hills.”

Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village (Gorilla Guardians Village), where you’ll immerse yourself in traditional Rwandan culture, meet community members, and enjoy engaging cultural experiences.

Later in the afternoon, continue to Ruhengeri and check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay as you prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Gorilla Trekking Experience in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for registration and a detailed briefing by the expert rangers, who will guide you through the gorilla trekking rules and essential safety tips.

You’ll then set off on your gorilla trek, a thrilling journey that can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas have moved. The trek itself is an adventure — winding through lush forest, listening to birdcalls, and following fresh traces of the gorilla families.

Once you find the gorillas, enjoy a magical, once-in-a-lifetime hour in their presence. Watch their gentle interactions, capture stunning photos, and soak in the rare privilege of observing these magnificent creatures in the wild.

After the trek, return to the lodge to relax, enjoy a well-deserved dinner, and unwind for the night.

Golden Monkey Trekking & Departure

Enjoy breakfast early in the morning before heading out for the Golden Monkey Trek, another rare and exciting primate encounter.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch, check out, and drive back to Kigali, arriving by 04:30pm at Kigali International Airport or your preferred drop-off point, marking the end of your tour.
