Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park ( Via Mtemere Airstrip)

You will be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar in the morning and transferred to the airport for your flight to Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival, your safari guide will meet you and begin a full-day game drive across the park’s vast and diverse landscapes, including open savannas, miombo woodlands, and riverine areas teeming with life.

During the drive, spot elephants roaming the plains, lions resting under acacia trees, giraffes browsing treetops, zebras and wildebeests grazing, hippos in the rivers and crocodiles. Around midday, enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic bush spot while observing wildlife activity and taking in the sights and sounds of the wilderness.

In the afternoon, continue exploring more of the park’s hidden corners, enjoying additional wildlife sightings and photographing the breathtaking scenery.

At the end of the day, transfer to Selous Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, resting and preparing for the next day’s adventure.

Nyerere National Park to Zanzibar

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will continue your adventure with a full morning game drive in Nyerere National Park. Explore new areas of the vast savannas and woodlands as you search for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and many other species that make this reserve one of Tanzania’s richest wildlife habitats. Enjoy the peaceful morning light and the active wildlife before the midday heat sets in.

Around lunchtime, you will pause for a packed hot lunch in a scenic spot within the park. After lunch, your driver-guide will continue the game drive, giving you one last chance to spot more wildlife before beginning the journey toward Mtemere Airstrip in the late afternoon. You will then take your flight back to Zanzibar, where you will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel, marking the end of your memorable two-day safari in Nyerere National Park.
