Depart Nairobi in the morning, driving north through Kenya’s diverse landscapes and climate zones, with scenic views of snow-capped Mount Kenya en route. Arrive at Samburu Game Reserve in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. The reserve is home to rare northern species, including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, and Somali ostrich. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

The day will be spent game driving in Samburu National Reserve. There is an option of combining Samburu, Buffalo Springs, and Shaba reserves during the game drives. Game viewing mainly concentrates along the Ewaso Nyiro River, which is the lifeline of this semi-desert environment.

Today you will transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park, stopping along the way to view the picturesque Thompson Falls at Nyahururu. The drive through farming country and homesteads, via the Great Rift Valley escarpment edge, is scenic. In the afternoon, you will enjoy birdwatching and a game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is home to hundreds of bird species, including a few flamingos and other birds. The lake also hosts a sanctuary for black and white rhinos.

Today is a game driving extravaganza! Masai Mara National Reserve remains the most exciting wildlife ecosystem in the natural world. It hosts one of the highest and most varied concentrations of wild animals of any park in the region. The scenic appeal of the tree-studded savannah plains, the moderate climate, and the diversity of wildlife species make it a one-stop destination for game-viewing activities. We shall traverse the Masai Mara Reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing, encountering the “Big Five” as well as other plains game. We will also visit the Mara River to observe hippos and crocodiles and possibly witness the Great Migration (July–October).

You will spend the full day on game drives, with plenty of time to enjoy the wildlife and the magnificent scenery, as well as moments for relaxation. The day begins with an early morning game drive, followed by breakfast and a mid-morning drive. After a comfortable lunch, we will set out on an afternoon game drive.

Between wildlife viewing sessions, relax at your lodge or camp, which provides meals and other activities. As always, your safari vehicle and driver/guide are at your disposal for additional game drives.
