Depart early for Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. En route, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking walk—the only place in Uganda where you can see wild rhinos. Track the Rhinos in their habitat while they are feeding.

Begin with a sunrise game drive on the park’s northern circuit, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, antelopes, and abundant birdlife. After lunch, embark on a boat cruise up the Nile River toward the base of Murchison Falls. The cruise offers close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and other wildlife along the riverbanks. Disembark for a guided hike up to the top of the falls—a spectacular vantage point over “the world’s most powerful waterfall.

After breakfast, depart southwest through rolling countryside toward Fort Portal and Kibale Forest National Park—renowned as East Africa’s premier chimpanzee trekking destination. The journey traverses tea plantations and scenic crater lakes. The drive is approximately 6hours of scenic drive.

Kibale boasts one of Africa’s highest densities of primates (13 species), including over 1,500 chimpanzees. After a briefing at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre, set out into the lush rainforest with expert trackers. Spend an hour observing habituated chimpanzees—watching them feed, play, groom—and encounter other primates like red colobus monkeys and L’Hoest’s monkeys.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary—a community-run project famous for birdlife (including Great Blue Turaco) and more primates.

Drive south through beautiful landscapes toward Queen Elizabeth National Park—Uganda's most biodiverse reserve. Enter via Kasenyi Plains for an afternoon game drive amid the savanna dotted with acacia trees. Look for lions (notably those that hunt Ugandan kob), elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hyenas, leopards (rare), giant forest hogs, and prolific birdlife.

After breakfast, embark on another game drive or visit Mweya Peninsula before heading out for an afternoon boat cruise along Kazinga Channel—a natural waterway linking Lakes Edward & George. The channel teems with hippos (one of Africa's highest concentrations), crocodiles basking on banks, elephants drinking at water's edge, and hundreds of waterbirds, including pelicans and kingfishers.
Optional activities include lion tracking, research experience, or visits to local salt lakes.

Arrive at your lodge near one of Bwindi's four trailheads.

Bwindi is celebrated globally as one of Earth’s richest biological refuges—home not only to endangered mountain gorillas but also rare birds/butterflies/plants. After registration/briefing by UWA rangers, you’ll join a small group assigned a specific gorilla family. Trekking can take from two up to eight hours, depending on location/movement; once found, you spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants—a profound wildlife experience often described as life-changing.
Return late afternoon; optional Batwa community/cultural visits.

These lively primates inhabit bamboo forests on lower slopes; tracking involves hiking through montane terrain with guides.

Journey northeast toward Lake Mburo NP—the closest savanna park en route back toward Kampala/Entebbe. Known for its rolling hills interspersed with acacia woodland/lakes/wetlands—it harbors zebras (not seen elsewhere in SW Uganda), impalas (Uganda's only population), eland antelope, plus hippos/crocodiles/waterbirds[22][23].
Arrive mid-afternoon; after dinner, embark on a unique night game drive led by rangers using spotlights—chance sightings may include leopard/genet/hyena/bushbaby.
