Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive north through the central highlands, passing coffee and tea plantations with scenic views of Mount Kenya. Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at your lodge/camp.

In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Samburu is home to the famous “Samburu Special Five”, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk.
