Day 2

Start your second day in Amboseli with an early morning game drive, when the park is alive with activity and wildlife is most active. Explore different areas of the park that you didn’t reach on Day 1, increasing your chances of spotting predators such as cheetahs and leopards, as well as hippos in swampy areas and smaller species like jackals and mongoose. Birdwatchers can enjoy sightings of ostriches, crowned cranes, and fish eagles. Mid-morning, pause for a packed lunch amid the savannah, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the bush. Continue the afternoon game drive, perhaps discovering elephants interacting at waterholes or observing giraffes browsing acacia trees. After breakfast, depart Amboseli National Park for Lake Nakuru, a scenic drive of approximately 6–8 hours through the Great Rift Valley, passing rolling hills, farmland, and rural Kenyan villages. Upon arrival, check into your lodge or camp near the park. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its spectacular flocks of pink flamingos along the lake shores and large populations of white and black rhinos. Spot giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, elands, and buffalo grazing in the park’s lush acacia woodlands.
