8-Day Nyerere, Mikumi & Ruaha Safari Drive in Fly Out

Transfer to Nyerere NP & Sunset Boat Safari

Your safari adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam. After a short briefing, you will depart by road to Nyerere National Park, enjoying scenic views of rural Tanzania along the way.

Upon arrival at your lodge or camp inside the park, you will check in and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch, followed by some time to relax and settle into the natural surroundings.

At around 4:00 PM, you will head out for a sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River. This unique experience offers close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species, all set against the backdrop of a beautiful African sunset.

After the boat safari, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, ready for the adventures ahead.

Full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere NP

After an early breakfast at your lodge, you will depart for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park, one of Africa’s largest and most diverse wildlife reserves.

You will explore different habitats within the park, including open plains, woodlands, and riverine areas along the Rufiji River. Expect to encounter a wide range of wildlife such as elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and possibly the rare African wild dogs. The park is also home to a rich variety of bird species, making it ideal for bird lovers.

A picnic lunch will be served at a designated site within the park, allowing you to relax while surrounded by nature.

In the late afternoon, you will continue with your game drive before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Another full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere NP

After breakfast, you will set out for another exciting game drive in Nyerere National Park, giving you more time to explore areas you may have missed and to spot additional wildlife in this vast reserve.

The morning hours are especially rewarding, with higher chances of seeing predators such as lions and other active wildlife. You will continue exploring the park with a picnic lunch served at a scenic location within the reserve.

In the afternoon, you will begin your journey toward Sable Mountain Lodge. Upon arrival, you will check in, relax, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the lodge.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at Sable Mountain Lodge.

Transfer to Mikumi NP and Game Drive

After breakfast at Sable Mountain Lodge, you will proceed to Mikumi National Park for another exciting day of wildlife viewing.

Upon entering the park, you will begin a game drive across the open plains, often compared to the Serengeti for its wide landscapes and excellent visibility. Mikumi is home to a variety of animals including elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and buffalo, making it a great location for rewarding sightings.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with your afternoon game drive, exploring different areas and habitats.

In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and transfer to Camp Bastian for dinner and an overnight stay.

Morning Game Drive in Mikumi Np & Transfer to Ruaha Np

You will depart early in the morning for a game drive in Mikumi National Park, taking advantage of the best time to spot wildlife when animals are most active. This is a great opportunity to see predators on the move as well as herds of herbivores across the open plains.

After the game drive, you will continue directly with your journey toward Ruaha National Park without returning to the lodge. A packed breakfast or picnic meal will be arranged for you to enjoy along the way.

The drive to Ruaha offers scenic views of the Tanzanian countryside and local villages. You will arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, where you will check in at your lodge or camp and have time to relax.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at your lodge in or near Ruaha National Park.

Another Full-Day Game Drive

After breakfast at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge, you will head out for another full-day game drive in Ruaha National Park, giving you more time to explore this vast and untamed wilderness.

This additional day increases your chances of spotting more wildlife, including large elephant herds, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and a variety of antelope species. You will visit different sections of the park, from riverbanks to open plains, each offering unique sightings and landscapes.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park, followed by continued exploration in the afternoon as you take in the beauty and diversity of Ruaha.

Later in the day, you will return to Ruaha Hilltop Lodge for dinner and your final overnight stay in the park.

Flying Back to Dar es salaam

This marks the end of your 8-day Southern Tanzania safari, filled with unforgettable wildlife experiences across Nyerere, Mikumi, and Ruaha.
