On Day 1, you’ll leave Nairobi early for the 4–5-hour drive to Amboseli, passing Maasai homesteads and open savannah along the way. By midday, check in at your lodge, Tawi Lodge, and enjoy lunch with views of Kilimanjaro. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive to photograph elephants and other wildlife, then capture silhouettes against the mountain at sunset before returning for dinner and overnight rest.

Begin with a pre-dawn game drive to capture elephants, lions, and cheetahs in the soft golden light with Mount Kilimanjaro often visible. Return to your lodge for breakfast, then spend late morning relaxing or photographing wildlife at nearby waterholes. After lunch, head out for an afternoon drive, focusing on birdlife and large herds crossing the plains. As the sun sets, capture silhouettes of acacia trees and wildlife before returning for dinner. Later, embark on a night game drive, where you’ll have the chance to photograph nocturnal species such as hyenas, civets, and owls under the starry sky. Day 3

Amboseli to Lake Nakuru

Journey through the Great Rift Valley.

You’ll leave Amboseli after an early breakfast and begin the journey north toward Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive passes through Nairobi and the scenic Great Rift Valley, with stops at viewpoints like the Rift Valley escarpment for panoramic photography. Arriving in Nakuru by mid-afternoon, you’ll check in at your lodge, Sarova Lion Hill and enjoy a late lunch. In the evening, head out for a game drive to photograph rhinos, giraffes, and the famous flocks of flamingos along the lake’s edge. As the sun sets, capture reflections of birds and acacia trees in the shimmering waters before returning for dinner and overnight rest.
