Day 1

For guests arriving through Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our driver will welcome you on arrival and transfer you to Arusha the day before your safari. For guests already in Arusha, your safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel.

From Arusha, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobabs and impressive elephant herds. Enjoy a game drive along the Tarangire River and across the surrounding savannah, watching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, lions and other wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before continuing your game drive.

Later, drive towards the Great Rift Valley highlands and continue to your comfortable accommodation in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, travel to the shores of Lake Eyasi for an authentic cultural experience with two of Tanzania’s fascinating indigenous communities.

Spend time with the Hadzabe, one of the country’s last traditional hunter-gatherer communities. Experience their way of life, learn about their relationship with nature, traditional hunting practices and distinctive click language, while sharing moments with the community.

Continue to a Datoga community, known for their pastoral traditions and remarkable skills as blacksmiths. Meet local artisans and observe traditional metalworking techniques as they transform metal into useful tools and ornaments.

After lunch, return towards Karatu for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight stay, reflecting on a day of meaningful cultural encounters.

After breakfast, journey to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater and descend into the caldera for your final game drive. Explore the crater floor, where open grasslands, wetlands and acacia woodlands support an extraordinary concentration of wildlife.

Search for the Big Five, including the endangered black rhino, as well as lions, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, hippos and abundant birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before ascending the crater walls.

Continue to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your preferred hotel, lodge or Arusha Airport, marking the end of your wildlife and cultural adventure.
