Day 2

Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, depart Nairobi and drive north toward the dramatic landscapes of Samburu.

The journey takes you through Kenya's central highlands and across changing scenery as you approach the semi-arid Samburu region. You will arrive in time for lunch.

After lunch and a short rest, proceed for your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve.

Day 3

Samburu Game Reserve

Samburu Game Reserve

After an early breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive in Samburu National Reserve.

The morning is an excellent time for wildlife viewing as animals are generally more active before the heat of the day. Your safari guide will explore different areas of the reserve in search of wildlife.

You will have a picnic lunch in the reserve before continuing with the afternoon game drive.

The reserve offers excellent opportunities for photography, particularly around the Ewaso Ng'iro River, where wildlife often gathers.

Later in the afternoon, return to the lodge.

Day 4

Samburu to Olpejeta

Samburu to Olpejeta

After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive south toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Arrive at the conservancy and enjoy lunch before an afternoon game drive.

Ol Pejeta is one of Kenya's important wildlife conservation areas and is particularly well known for its rhino conservation efforts. Depending on time and availability, an optional visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary or other conservation activities can be arranged.

Return to camp in the evening for dinner.

After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and drive to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve.

The drive takes you through the Great Rift Valley and the Kenyan countryside before reaching the Mara region.

After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara.

The Mara is renowned for its abundant wildlife and is home to the Big Five. Depending on the season, you may also witness large concentrations of wildebeest and zebra.

Return to camp before sunset.

Today is dedicated to a full-day safari in Masai Mara National Reserve.

After an early breakfast, depart with picnic lunch for a full day of wildlife exploration. The Mara also supports large populations of cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, hippos and numerous antelope species.

If travelling during the Great Migration period, there may also be opportunities to witness large herds of wildebeest and zebra moving through the Mara ecosystem.

Return to the camp in the late afternoon.

Optional activity: Masai village visit.

Early breakfast followed by a morning game drive through Murchison Falls National Park.

The park is known for its large savannah landscapes and abundant wildlife. Return for lunch and later continue with additional wildlife viewing.

Depending on the final schedule, a boat safari on the Victoria Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls can be included as an optional/additional activity. The boat ride provides excellent opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles and wildlife coming to the river to drink.

Today can be dedicated to one of the highlights of the Uganda safari — mountain gorilla trekking.

After an early breakfast, proceed to the designated gorilla trekking briefing point.

After the ranger briefing, enter Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of a habituated gorilla family.

Gorilla trekking can take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find them, you will have an unforgettable opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat.

After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation.

Important: Gorilla trekking requires a separate permit and should be booked well in advance. If gorilla trekking is not included, the day can instead be used for a forest/community experience.
