Your Kenya safari starts with a pickup from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 08h00h, followed by a drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Located in southern Kenya, about 275 km from Nairobi, you will drive for approximately 6-7 hours, passing through the Great Rift Valley viewpoint and Narok town. You will arrive at your camp in the Masai Mara in time for lunch, check in and thereafter head out for an introductory afternoon game drive.
The Masai Mara is known for its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife, making it one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. The park’s open grasslands provide ideal hunting grounds for apex predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs.

On this day, you can choose to start with an optional hot-air balloon safari for an extra $450 per person, including a champagne breakfast.
Proceed with a full-day game drive within the reserve in search of the Big Five animals: elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo. What amazes tourists in this reserve is the annual migration of wildebeest, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The animals shift in July and return in November. Birdlife is abundant in the Mara, which boasts over 400 bird species. At around 16h00, exit the park with the option to visit a nearby Maasai village for an additional $25 per person. You will have the opportunity to learn about and interact with the local Maasai community, a well-known ethnic group in East Africa, known for their traditional origins in the areas surrounding the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Day 3

After an early breakfast, check out at 07h30 and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving at your Nakuru hotel in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is a haven for birdwatching, with more than 400 species in the Rift Valley, and the main highlight is the flamingos forming a stunningly beautiful deep-pink band around the lake's shore. The park is also a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of more than 100 black and white rhinos and it also offers great sightseeing of larger predators like lions and leopards.

Day 4

Continue your journey further to Amboseli National Park with a picturesque drive skirting through the vast plains and African savannah, with sightings of Maasai homesteads. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive with a perfect view of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Against this magnificent backdrop roams vast herds of elephants accompanied by a mixture of other fabulous animals like lions, buffalos, cheetahs and giraffes, to name but a few.

Rise early for breakfast and embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch as you enjoy good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in Africa for experiencing elephants up close. Your game drive will take you to Observation Hill for a better overall view of the park, including the adjacent marshy swamps. Wildlife is abundant in this park, together with pelicans and other bird species. Your game viewing will be spread to cover the open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps and marshland.

Day 6
Amboseli – Nairobi / Mombasa

After breakfast, you decide to extend your safari to the coast (Mombasa, Diani or Malindi) by train, with a drop-off at Emali train station or drive back to Nairobi, arriving later in the afternoon, followed by a transfer to the airport or a Nairobi hotel. Depending on your arrival time in Nairobi, our driver-guide will arrange a bonus Nairobi city tour and shopping for those who would like to take home some souvenirs.
