Arusha National Park & Walking Safari

Your safari begins in the morning when your guide meets you at your hotel in Arusha. Within an hour you are in Arusha National Park, with Mount Meru rising above the forest. Highlight: your walking safari. Step out of the vehicle with an armed ranger and feel the wild at your own pace. You hear the leaves, smell the grass, and suddenly giraffes are standing just ahead of you, calm and curious. Colobus monkeys leap through the trees above. Later we drive to the Momella Lakes where flamingos paint the shore pink and enjoy a picnic lunch with a view. In the afternoon you return to Arusha tired in the best way for a warm dinner and a good night's sleep.

Tarangire National Park

Wake up early, because today belongs to the elephants. After breakfast we drive to Tarangire National Park, and as the sun climbs, the land turns golden. Highlight: elephant herds under ancient baobab trees. Picture mothers guiding tiny calves to the river while giant baobabs stand over them, some older than a thousand years. Your guide finds the best spots, and you may also see lions resting in the shade, giraffes crossing the road, and wildebeest and zebra everywhere. We stop for a picnic lunch in the park, then enjoy the soft afternoon light. As the day ends we drive to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and rest.

Ngorongoro Crater & Maasai Boma

Today is the big one. After an early breakfast we climb the Rift Valley wall to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater and the world opens up below you. Then we drive down to the crater floor a huge natural arena where lions, elephants, hippos, zebra, wildebeest and with luck, the rare black rhino live side by side. You spend the morning on game drive, with a picnic lunch by the hippo pool. On the way back we visit a Maasai boma (village), where you are welcomed with a traditional song and dance and hear about their customs and daily life. We drive to Arusha, about 4 hours for dinner and an overnight stay.

Fly to Zanzibar

Your safari ends and your island holiday begins. After breakfast your guide takes you to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. When you land, we meet you and drive you to your beach hotel on the coast. The rest of the day is yours. Kick off your shoes, walk on soft white sand, swim in the warm turquoise water, and watch the sun go down over the Indian Ocean. After days of dust and game drives, this is the moment you exhale.

Stone Town, Spice Tour & Beach Time

After breakfast we head out for a day of Zanzibar's story. First is a spice farm where you smell fresh cinnamon, cloves and vanilla and taste tropical fruit straight from the tree. Then we walk through Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with narrow alleys carved wooden doors busy markets and centuries of Swahili, Arab and African history. Your guide brings it all to life. In the afternoon you return to your hotel to relax on the beach, then enjoy a seafood dinner by the sea.

Departure

Enjoy a slow breakfast and a last swim or walk on the beach. At the agreed time we transfer you to Zanzibar airport for your flight home. You leave with sand on your shoes, stories from the crater, and a very full camera.
