Day 1

Early morning at around 0630hrs, meet and greet by our representative at your Nairobi hotel or at the airport (JKIA). After a short briefing about your safari, depart Nairobi for a journey to Samburu National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. Check in to your comfortable Lodge, have lunch, and enjoy some relaxation.
Later in the afternoon, proceed for a game drive in the park, famous for the Samburu semi-nomadic community and the rare wildlife species found only in this region such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, and the blue-necked Somali ostrich. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 2

Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve

Early morning game drive in the soft morning light across this dry semi-arid park in search of elephants, lions, cheetahs, Grevy’s zebras, Somali ostriches, reticulated giraffes, and other wildlife and bird species. Return to the lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning is at leisure, with an option to visit the Samburu community village (Manyatta) to experience their traditional way of life (optional activity at own cost - US$30). Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive. Samburu National Reserve is set against the backdrop of the striking Ololokwe Mountain and bordered to the south by the Ewaso Nyiro River, which separates it from Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The reserve is also home to the rare Reticulated Giraffe, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle, and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Samburu - Lake Nakuru National Park

After an early breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, a birdwatcher’s paradise located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch, check in, and relax. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the park.
Lake Nakuru is world-renowned for its flamingos and over 400 bird species, including the African fish eagle, goliath heron, hamerkop, pied kingfisher, pelicans, and many more. The park also hosts a large population of white and black rhinos, the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, and other wildlife such as buffaloes, lions, zebras, waterbucks, and impalas. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
