Day 1

Transfer from Entebbe or Kampala to Bwindi National Park

Transfer from Entebbe or Kampala to Bwindi National Park

A Bamboo Ecotours representative will pick you up in Entebbe town or Kampala city and drive to Bwindi National Park. The drive will take about 8-9hrs to go through western Uganda's major Masaka, Mbarara, and Kabale. There are two scheduled stopovers along the way: the first one at the Equator crossing near Masaka for a coffee break and handicraft shopping. The second stop will be in Mbarara city for lunch. After the short stopover in Mbarara city, you will proceed to Bwindi National Park.

Dinner and overnight at Bwindi National Park.

Day 2

You will head to the Bwindi national park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The briefing will be conducted by the national park guide and will cover the basics of what to expect during the trek. It is at this point that you will be told which gorilla family to trek with. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take from a few to many hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest.

Sabyinyo Volcano Hiking Adventure in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Mount Sabyinyo or older man's teeth in the local Rufumbira dialect, is one of the revered volcanoes in the chain of eight (8) mountains that forms the Virunga ranges of Central and Eastern Africa. The third peak of this famous volcano adjoins the borders of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It takes between 7 and 9 hrs to summit this extinct volcano. Because of its rugged nature, there are several wooden ladders along the Sabyinyo hiking trail. After the hike, you will drive back to the lodge near Kisoro town or the Lake Mutanda area for dinner and overnight.

Transfer from Kisoro to Lake Bunyonyi for Canoeing

Transfer from Kisoro to Lake Bunyonyi for Canoeing

Transfer from Kisoro or the Lake Mutanda area in the morning to Lake Bunyonyi in the nearby Kabale district. Here where you will have options to enjoy canoeing, bird watching, and local cultures. Lake Bunyonyi is about 2 hours drive from Kisoro, but the views are just breathtaking.

After early morning breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi, you will drive from Lake Bunyonyi to Kampala or Entebbe town. Along the drive to Kampala/Entebbe, there will still be a stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre near Mbarara city for lunch and at the Equator crossing.
