The Beauty of Lake Manyara

After breakfast, you’ll journey to the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, nestled between the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the shimmering shores of Lake Manyara.
This compact yet incredibly diverse park is famous for its lush groundwater forest, where towering fig and mahogany trees create a jungle-like atmosphere. Here, you may encounter playful troops of baboons, blue monkeys, bushbuck, giraffes, elephants, and, with some luck, the park’s iconic tree-climbing lions. The alkaline lake itself often glows pink with flamingos, creating a truly picturesque scene.
Stretching over 50 km along the base of the 600-meter-high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara was once described by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa” — a sentiment many travelers still share today.
You’ll enjoy a delicious hot local lunch at one of our carefully selected picnic spots before beginning your drive back to your lodge.
