After an early breakfast, your Musana Tours and Travel driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel and begin the journey toward Uganda via the Katuna border. As you travel through Rwanda, famously known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills,” you will enjoy breathtaking scenery with rolling hills, terraced landscapes, and several photo opportunities along the way.

As you approach the border, take in the stunning views of the Virunga volcanoes, which add a dramatic backdrop to your journey. Upon arrival at the Katuna border, your driver-guide will assist you with all immigration formalities before continuing into Uganda.

Proceed to your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch, refresh, and spend the rest of the evening at leisure before dinner and your overnight stay.

Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing by experienced ranger guides. You will then be assigned a gorilla family and set off into the dense rainforest to begin your trek. The experience takes you through lush vegetation, steep terrain, and breathtaking scenery as you search for the endangered mountain gorillas.

Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat, watching them feed, groom, play, and interact. This close encounter is one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife experiences.

After the trek, return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. After an early breakfast, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for a briefing at the park headquarters. You will then set out with experienced ranger guides into the bamboo forests in search of the rare and playful golden monkeys.

As you trek through the lower slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes, enjoy the beauty of the forest while spotting other wildlife and bird species along the way. Once you locate the golden monkeys, spend an hour observing them as they leap through the trees, feed, and interact within their lively groups.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest lakes in Africa and a true scenic gem of southwestern Uganda. The lake is dotted with 29 islands and offers breathtaking views, along with a rich variety of birdlife along its peaceful shores.

Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch while overlooking the calm waters. In the afternoon, set out on a relaxing boat ride to explore the islands, each with its own unique history and charm. Later, visit a scenic viewpoint above the lake, where you will enjoy panoramic views of the islands and surrounding terraced hills.

After an early breakfast, you will head into Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains. This 4–5 hour adventure offers excellent chances to spot wildlife such as lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and a variety of bird species in one of Uganda’s most diverse savannah parks.

After the game drive, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, proceed to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise starting from Mweya. This waterway attracts large concentrations of wildlife, offering close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and numerous water birds, as well as elephants and buffaloes gathering along the shores.
