Johannesburg to Kambaku Safari Lodge

Departing from the Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport Bus Terminal by 7:00 am, you'll travel eastwards via the N4 motorway through the Highveld of Gauteng and Mpumalanga, down the escarpment and into the Timbavati Game Reserve near Hoedspruit in Limpopo.

During the drive of about six to seven hours, you will stop for refreshments and reach the lodge around midday.

You will have time to freshen up and relax before departing on an open safari vehicle for your first afternoon game drive in the reserve. After sunset, you will return to the lodge, where a delicious dinner awaits you.

Morning and Afternoon Open Vehicle Safari Drives

Expect early wake-up calls each morning and first enjoy a hot beverage and rusks before departing on your game drive to catch some nocturnal animals still out hunting, and witness the sun rising.

On return to the lodge, you can enjoy a late breakfast and choose to spend the rest of the day lazing around or enjoying a bush walk.

Soon it will be time for an afternoon game drive, which will depart at about 4:00 pm, and return just in time for a scrumptious dinner under African skies.

Morning Safari Drive and Return to Johannesburg

On the last day of your safari, you have to rise early again, enjoy your hot beverage and rusk, and depart on the final game drive.

After experiencing another African sunrise, you'll return to the lodge for breakfast before departing for Johannesburg. You will arrive at your drop-off point around 5:00 pm.
