Day 2

Travel to Murchison Falls National Park (Rhino Trekking)

Travel to Murchison Falls National Park (Rhino Trekking)

On this day you will be met and warmly welcomed by our fully dressed company driver and start your Journey to the north. You will head northwards with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for your rhino tracking experience.
The 6 hours journey takes you through the cattle corridors of Nakasongola with a one-hour stopover for lunch before you arrive at the extreme southern entrance of Murchison Falls in Budongo Forest.
You will be welcomed by several olive baboons as you drive to the northern side of the park.
Depending on the choice of accommodation, you will cross the mighty river Nile, do an evening safari game drive, and check in at the lodge for an evening relaxation as prepare for the next day.

As early as 6:00 am, you will head out for a game drive with your car roof popped up. While on the safari game drive in the park, there are chances you will spot the early risers like the lions, leopards, and hyenas among other cats and not forgetting large concentrations of giraffes and Uganda Kobs. After a search of the big cats, you will head back to the lodge or have lunch somewhere else as you prepare for a boat cruise.
In the afternoon you will embark, on a spectacular 2 to 4 hours boat cruise on the River Nile. The boat cruise brings you closer to sights of crocodiles, and big savannah elephants quenching off their thirst. Also, be ready to catch some big sights and pictures of the yawning Hippos. For travelers with so much love for birds, a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile in Murchison Falls will never disappoint. Be ready to spot the Egyptian goose, calling pairs of African fish eagles, and bee-eaters before the boat cruise arrives at the turning point.

After breakfast, you will pass through the Albertine Escarpments and the verdant countryside, traditional farms, and homesteads.
You will have lunch in Hoima and continue on the drive to your lodge. You will head for a swamp walk in Bigodi wetland. Bigodi wetland sanctuary harbors numerous species of butterflies, iconic birds such as the great blue Turacos, small animals like squirrels, primates like olive baboons and Vervet monkeys, and mammals like the swamp dweller – Sitatunga antelope, etc.

Day 5

Kibale National Park: Chimpanzee Trekking

Kibale National Park: Chimpanzee Trekking

After a well-rested night at your lodge and an early breakfast, the driver guide picks you up for the chimp trekking experience. You will be briefed by a ranger guide on how you are expected to conduct yourself while in the forest when you locate the chimps. Often you will find the chimps either resting, feeding, or grooming each other with the young ones. This activity allows you 1 hour with the chimps. Depending on the time you start and how soon you locate the chimpanzees, this can be a whole-day activity or a half-day activity. You will walk with the rangers following these chimps throughout your time in the forest.
Right after this primate experience, you will set out for a walk in the impressive Bigodi local community farming experience. This is an organic experience that takes you to coffee making, local banana beer making as well as visiting a local school in the community. After this experience, you will then embark on your journey back to the lodge.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking Excursion in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will wake up early morning for breakfast depending on the distance of your lodge to the starting point. You will drive to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by the Bwindi National Park rangers and allocated a gorilla family to track.
This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience as you watch the mountain gorillas live their daily life of feeding, playing around, and grooming themselves. The gorilla trekking activity takes 2 to 8 hours sparing one hour spent with the mountain gorillas.
After your gorilla excursion, you can visit the Batwa People (keepers of the Forest) for a cultural tour of how these people lived in the forest before it was reserved as a national park. You will leave Bwindi for Kisoro, the bad road takes you through a beautiful landscape called the “Switzerland of Africa”. On the last hill, the landscape unfolds beneath you, in the vast plains of Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo the Virunga volcanoes dominate the view.

After breakfast, you will meet your safari driver for a transfer for briefing again before embarking on this half-day golden monkey tracking. Tracking golden monkeys is more interesting and fun as the pretty little primates be jumping from one tree branch to another cheerfully swinging their tail. Unlike gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking allows travelers to capture photographs even with the flashlight of the camera on. After tracking the golden monkey, you will then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for your luxury relaxation at the lake and close down the distance back to Kampala. The word Bunyonyi comes from a local phrase “Bunyonyi” which means a place of small birds. This is Africa’s second deepest lake with a total number of 29 islands and each island has a past story on it.
