Day 1

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International airport, Arcadia Safaris driver-guide will be there to pick you up and transfer you to the hotel in Kampala for a Bed and Breakfast overnight stay. This will be a great opportunity for you to rest and relax after a long flight.

Day 2

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your early morning breakfast, Arcadia Safaris guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the south West. You will have the first stop-over at the Equator for photos and experiments while at the 0 degrees latitude which divides the world equally. Additionally from there you will then proceed to Mbarara City for Lunch at Agip Motel and continue through the green rolling hills and winding roads to the home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Later reach your lodge in the evening check-in and relaxation as you prepare for the big day.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Walk

After an early breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. You will meet fellow other trackers where you be divided into groups and head out into the dense forests to look for these gentle apes. The walk involves moving up and down through thick trees, different birds can be spotted on this adventurous walk. On reaching the gorillas, you are given 1 hour to observe them as they carry on with their daily activities eating, playing, mating.

After you walk of the forest to where you started the trek for the awarding ceremony of successfully completing the gorilla trekking activity and drive back to the lodge for Lunch and Relaxation. In the evening you will head out and visit the Batwa community who were the initial inhabitants of the forests who were forced out to enforce conservation of the forests and the diverse ecosystem and its wildlife including the mountain gorillas.

Day 4

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Via Ishasha Sector for Tree Climbing Lions

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Via Ishasha Sector for Tree Climbing Lions

Following breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive through the winding roads and dense forests of Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Different small primates can be spotted along the way like the black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, different bird species like the Rwenzori Turaco, and many other forest endemics. You will have a lunch stop in Kihihi. After you proceed to Ishasha in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of the famous tree-climbing lions. Different animals can be sighted during this game drive like Topis, buffaloes, antelopes. Finally after the game drive, you drive to your lodge in the Northern sector of the Park for dinner and Overnight.

Day 5

Morning Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth NP and Afternoon Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the Kasenyi plains for a game drive. You will have a chance to spot on those animals you might have missed out on in the previous game drive at Ishasha. On a lucky day, you may be able to spot animals like Lions hunting for the day, the early grazers, herds of buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, and many more. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and prepare for the Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.

After lunch, you will drive to the Mweya Peninsula where you start your 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. The channel joins Lake Edward and George and it is a hotspot for wildlife within the park. Large schools of hippos are permanent residents of this water body, big herds of elephants are often seen frequenting the channel to cool off their huge bodies. After this rewarding boat ride, you will have an en-route game drive back to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Drive Back to Kampala / Entebbe via Fort Portal

After breakfast, you will embark on your return journey back to Kampala through Fort Portal town, you will another chance to experience the Equator for the second time in Kikorongo as you exit the park. Have a lunch break in Break-in Mubende, here you may opt to visit the Nakayima tree a Famous cultural site in Buganda before you drive to Entebbe to End the Safari.
