Dar es Salaam to Selous/Nyerere National Park

Your adventure begins with an early morning transfer from your hotel in Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park aboard our comfortable pop-up roof 4x4 safari vehicle. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Tanzanian countryside as you journey toward one of Africa’s largest and most pristine wildlife destinations.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch while relaxing and taking in the tranquil views of the Rufiji River.

In the late afternoon, embark on a private sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River. This unique experience offers excellent opportunities to observe hippos, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and a variety of bird species in their natural habitat while witnessing a spectacular African sunset over the wilderness.

After the boat safari, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Selous River View Lodge, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the African bush.

Start your day with an early breakfast before setting off on an exciting full-day game drive through the vast wilderness of Nyerere National Park accompanied by your professional driver-guide.

As you explore the park’s diverse landscapes, your guide will take you to some of the most rewarding wildlife-viewing areas and share insights into the park’s unique ecosystem. Keep your camera ready for sightings of African wild dogs, hyenas, lions, elephants, leopards, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, impalas, elands, hippos, crocodiles, and a remarkable variety of birdlife.

At midday, enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a designated campsite within the park, surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the African wilderness.

After lunch, continue your safari adventure, searching for more wildlife and taking in the spectacular scenery before returning to the lodge in the late afternoon. Spend the evening relaxing, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Walking Safari – Return to Dar es Salaam & Zanzibar

Rise early for a memorable guided walking safari in the wilderness of Nyerere National Park. Accompanied by an armed park ranger and an experienced guide, you will spend approximately 2–3 hours exploring the bush on foot, offering a unique and intimate connection with nature. Guide will share fascinating insights into animal tracking, medicinal plants, local culture, birdlife, and the park’s diverse ecosystem. This immersive experience allows you to appreciate the sights, sounds, and beauty of the African wilderness from a completely different perspective.

After the walking safari, return to the lodge for a refreshing shower and breakfast before checking out. You will then depart for Dar es Salaam with packed lunch boxes provided for the journey. Upon arrival, our team will transfer you to the ferry terminal for your ferry crossing to Zanzibar. Upon reaching Zanzibar, be transferred to your hotel, bringing your unforgettable safari adventure to a comfortable and memorable conclusion.
