Following breakfast, embark on a thrilling adventure to Arusha National Park for game viewing drives and guided game walks under the supervision of an armed game ranger. This verdant gem boasts the majestic Mount Meru, Africa's fourth highest peak standing at 4,566 meters. Prepare to be mesmerized by the park's diverse landscapes, from the Meru Crater in the west to the Ngurdoto Crater in the southeast, along with expansive grasslands and the picturesque Momella Lakes in the northeast. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of buffalos, zebras, and elephants amidst this natural wonderland.

Day 3-4

Arusha to Tarangire Ntional Park

Arusha to Tarangire Ntional Park

After breakfast, we'll head to Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River, vital for wildlife during the dry season. Dense vegetation, including elephant grass and acacia woodlands, is characteristic here. The park is famous for its elephant families often seen by the river, along with giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Predators like lions and leopards also roam. Tarangire hosts more breeding bird species than any other place on Earth!

Following lunch and an extensive game drive, we'll retire to our tented partner lodges at Lake Burunge Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. You'll have two full days to explore Tarangire National Park.

Today, we'll visit the charming village of Mto wa Mbu nestled beneath the majestic Great Rift Valley escarpment. Embark on a guided cultural tour of the village, immersing yourself in local life.

Explore vibrant banana farms and rice fields, learning about agricultural practices. Witness the Chagga people crafting banana beer and mbege, and discover the selection process for suitable banana varieties.

Observe a farmer from Kigoma extracting palm oil and engage with the Sandawe community, known for their unique click language and traditional hunting techniques.

Interact with the Rangi people, who weave intricate mats and baskets using papyrus. After lunch, we'll journey to serene Lake Eyasi for dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.

Day 6

Lake Eyasi (Hadzabe group) Visit

Early morning, embark on a guided cultural tour of the Hadzabe communities settlement at Lake Eyasi, immersing yourself in their unique way of life. Witness firsthand how these proud people, among the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in the world, survive by hunting and gathering wild fruits and roots. You can even join the Hadzabe bushmen on a hunting demonstration, experiencing their traditional methods firsthand as they search for food in the scrubby bushland.

Marvel at the linguistic similarities between the Hadzabe language and the click language spoken by Southern Africa's Bushmen, with clicks and pops that distinguish it from other languages. Additionally, explore a blacksmith community of the Datoga, observing the creation of various ornaments.

Afterwards, return to your lodge for a refreshing brunch. In the afternoon, visit Lake Eyasi before enjoying dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, we'll head to Karatu for a memorable walking safari. Over two hours, we'll traverse the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, we'll explore the stunning Endoro Falls and fascinating elephant caves, formed by these majestic creatures digging through dense rock to access nutrient-rich soil. Accompanied by an armed ranger and guide, we'll navigate the dense forest, observing animal tracks, including those of elephants.

Following the hike, you can opt for a picnic lunch or proceed directly to your accommodation for a hot meal. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge before embarking on an enchanting evening coffee walk. After this activity, return to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart from Serengeti with a thrilling game viewing drive en-route. You'll have the option to visit Olduvai Gorge, where the remains of early man were discovered by the Leakey family. This significant fossil site, part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area World Heritage Site, spans over thirty miles and is about three hundred feet deep.

During December to March, witness the annual wildebeest migration in the Ndutu area, where they gather for grazing. February to mid-March marks the calving season, offering a unique spectacle of new life in the wild. Enjoy a packed lunch on the way before continuing your journey to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After an early breakfast, descend into the crater, nearly 600 meters deep, which was formed from a volcanic explosion millions of years ago. This geological marvel is renowned for its dense populations of large mammals, making it one of Africa's prime natural reserves.

The drive down offers its own adventure, and upon reaching the crater floor, you'll encounter a plethora of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and over 500 bird species. The crater provides an excellent opportunity to spot endangered black rhinos and prides of lions roaming the open grasslands.

Following lunch and an extensive game drive within the crater, we'll head to our comfortable partner lodges in Karatu. Dinner and overnight accommodation await you at Marera Valley Lodge.
