Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and transfer to the railway station for your train journey to Morogoro. Upon arrival in Morogoro, meet your driver and continue by road to Mikumi National Park.
This combination of train and road travel helps reduce the amount of time spent driving between Dar es Salaam and Mikumi, making the journey more comfortable and efficient.
On arrival at Mikumi, enter the park and begin your first game drive across its open plains and wildlife-rich areas. Look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, hippos, and a variety of bird species. Lions may also be seen depending on the day's sightings.

After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive in Mikumi National Park. The cooler morning hours provide a good opportunity to explore different areas of the park while wildlife is often more active. Your guide will select the best routes according to recent sightings and park conditions.
After the game drive, enjoy lunch before leaving Mikumi and travelling back toward Morogoro. This routing is designed to shorten the travelling hours between destinations, allowing for a more relaxed transition before continuing to Nyerere National Park the following day.
On arrival in Morogoro, check in at your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 3
Morogoro to Nyerere National Park via Matambwe Gate – Game Drive En Route
Morogoro to Nyerere National Park via Matambwe Gate – Game Drive En Route
After an early breakfast, depart Morogoro and travel south toward Nyerere National Park, entering through Matambwe Gate.
The journey takes you through changing landscapes, rural villages, and increasingly remote wilderness before reaching the park. After completing the entry formalities, begin your game drive en route to your safari camp or lodge.
Nyerere offers a diverse mix of miombo woodland, open grasslands, riverine forest, lakes and waterways. Wildlife may include elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, zebras and, with luck, African wild dogs.
A picnic lunch will be provided during the journey or inside the park. Continue your afternoon game drive before arriving at your accommodation for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 4
Full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park + Sunset Boat Safari
Full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park + Sunset Boat Safari
After breakfast, depart for a game drive in Nyerere National Park. Spend the day exploring some of the park's most productive wildlife areas, with your guide searching for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, antelopes, and the many bird species found throughout the ecosystem.
A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a suitable location, allowing you to maximize your time in the wilderness. Later in the afternoon, leave the vehicle behind and head to the Rufiji River for a sunset boat safari.
Cruise along the river and its channels while watching for hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and other wildlife along the banks. As the sun begins to set, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful colours over the river.
After the boat safari, return to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

After breakfast, check out from your accommodation and transfer to the nearby airstrip for your scheduled morning flight to Zanzibar. Enjoy aerial views of Southern Tanzania as you leave the wilderness of Nyerere behind and fly toward the Indian Ocean and Zanzibar.
Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you by private vehicle to your selected hotel.
Your safari concludes with hotel drop-off, marking the end of your journey through Mikumi and Nyerere National Park.
