Day 3
Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park
After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. The park offers one of the world’s most breathtaking wildlife spectacles – brilliant pink flamingos stretching as far as the eye can see. When conditions are right, between one and two million lesser and greater flamingos gather along the shores of the shallow soda lake, joined by thousands of other bird species. The best vantage point is from Baboon Cliff, which provides sweeping views over the lake and its shimmering pink shoreline.
Wildlife in Lake Nakuru is abundant. On a single game drive, you are likely to encounter impala, defassa waterbuck, white rhino and large herds of buffalo grazing on the open plains. A special highlight is the Rothschild’s giraffe, introduced to the park for protection. You will experience all this during your afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park.
