Day 1

Fly from Dar-es-Salaam to Kigoma, Then to Gombe National Park

Early morning, transfer to Dar es Salaam Airport for your 6:30 AM flight to Kigoma, arriving at approximately 8:40 AM. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to Kibirizi Port for a scenic boat journey to Gombe Stream National Park.
After checking in and enjoying lunch at the restaurant, begin your chimpanzee tracking adventure in the forest. Explore the tropical forests of Gombe and observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat, along with other primates, wildlife, and a variety of tropical bird species. In the evening spend your time beside the Lake Taganyika looking at local boats and dhows of the local fishers while going fishing; in the late evening you will enjoy the fascinating sun down at the Dr Congo Mountain.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking & Return to Kigoma

Chimpanzee Tracking & Return to Kigoma

After breakfast at around 8:00 AM, begin chimpanzee tracking in Gombe Stream National Park, with opportunities to see other primates and wildlife. Continue with a forest walk to attractions such as Kakombe Falls. If you would like, you can take a shower in the natural water from Kakombe Falls and continue hiking to Jane Peak for spectacular views of the lush Gombe Forest. Around lunchtime you will return to the park entrance for a relaxed lunch at the restaurant, and then if the time permits, you can take your last swimming in the clear crystal water of Lake Tanganyika or do it Canoeng before taking a boat back to Kigoma, where you can either catch an afternoon flight to Dar es Salaam or spend an extra night in Kigoma.
