Day 1
Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park
Transfer by road from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park. This is where the journey begins, as you join us for the first step of your safari adventure. You’ll meet your friendly expert guide, and we’ll quickly complete the formalities so you can begin enjoying the safari you’ve been dreaming of. Lunch will be served in the park.
It’s no surprise that some of the aerial scenes from “Out of Africa” were filmed here, with Lake Nakuru’s stunning views of the escarpment, lake, and acacia forest. What makes the park truly special is its population of black and white rhinos, tree-climbing lions, and endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. You may also spot leopards, flamingos, and a variety of bird species.
Tucked away in a quiet corner, far from other lodges and camps, Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge offers the best views in the park.

Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early morning breakfast, you’ll begin driving towards the Masai Mara, enjoying a game drive along the way. Many travelers fall in love with the Masai Mara National Reserve at first sight, and it’s easy to see why. Here, you can search for big cats, elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, and more (including black rhinos in the Mara Triangle). Birdwatchers come for the over 500 recorded species in the Mara. Best of all, you get to experience this across one of Kenya’s best examples of classic safari terrain. The Masai Mara features endless savannah grasslands, acacia woodlands, and rolling hills that rise to the escarpments lining the reserve's perimeter. The Mara also lies in the heart of Maasai country. Community tours include a visit to a Maasai village, where you can learn about their culture. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Masai Mara National Reserve - Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you’ll begin your drive to Amboseli National Park, enjoying a game drive along the way. Amboseli is one of Kenya's best parks. While you're here, you won’t be able to take your eyes off Mt. Kilimanjaro (5895m). Although Africa's highest mountain is in Tanzania, the best views are from Amboseli. It's also an excellent park for wildlife. There are few places in Kenya where you can get this close to elephants, and the park is also home to lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, wildebeest, giraffes, and more. Every time the clouds clear from the mountain’s summit, you’ll want to capture a photo of the animals with Mt Kilimanjaro in the background.
During your stay at Amboseli Sopa Lodge, you’ll be in a quiet area just off the road leading to the park’s eastern gate. You’ll enjoy incredible views of Mt. Kilimanjaro from your room.
