After a short briefing, enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, passing through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills and vibrant countryside. On arrival, check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner as you prepare for the exciting gorilla and golden monkey encounters ahead.

Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Uganda

After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your golden monkey trekking experience. Guided by experts, you’ll explore the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park in search of these playful and energetic primates. The trek typically lasts between 2 and 4 hours, depending on their movement. After the trek, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about conservation efforts. Later, return to the lodge for lunch before driving across the border into Uganda.

Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Mulehe

Enjoy an early breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing at 7:30 AM. You will be assigned a gorilla family and guided through the forest for an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience. The trek usually lasts between 2 to 5 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, and you will spend one hour in their presence.
In the afternoon, enjoy a Batwa cultural performance, then transfer to Lake Mulehe.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Uganda and Transfer to Kigali

After breakfast, enjoy a peaceful canoe ride on Lake Mulehe, taking in the stunning views and serenity of the surroundings. Afterwards, begin your scenic drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival in Kigali, if time permits, you have the option to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s history. You may also choose to explore Kimironko Market, a vibrant spot to shop for local crafts and souvenirs. Finally, you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport, concluding your memorable safari experience.
