Depending on your arrival time, you can relax after your journey or explore the vibrant city at your leisure. Your guide will brief you about your upcoming safari before you enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Kigali.

Day 2

Scenic Drive Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Kigali, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, one of Rwanda’s most important historical sites. After the city tour, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.

The scenic drive takes you through Rwanda’s famous rolling hills, lush countryside, and charming villages before crossing the border into Uganda. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure.

Driving Time: Approximately 4–5 hours (excluding border formalities).

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then begin your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience through the dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 5 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once you find them, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat, watching them feed, play, and interact with one another.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch before driving back to Rwanda and Volcanoes National Park.

Driving Time: Approximately 2–3 hours.

Golden Monkey Trekking & Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, head to Volcanoes National Park for an exciting golden monkey trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced park guides, explore the bamboo forests at the foot of the Virunga Volcanoes in search of these playful and endangered primates. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch before visiting the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about gorilla conservation and research. Later, depart for Kigali, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable Uganda and Rwanda safari.
