Described as the most exciting thing to happen to the Nile alongits 6,000km journey from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean, the 43m-high Murchison Falls is also the centerpiece of Uganda's largest and oldest nationa lpark. Here you might encounter four of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo), along with the world's largest population of the endangered Roths child’s giraffe, and several types of antelope and monkey. Particularlynoteworthy among 550-odd recorded bird species are the hulkinggreat shoebill and Abyssinian ground hornbill, and the beautifully marked and very localized white-crested turaco and red-headed lovebird.

The Batwa experience begins with a nature-walk, hike through the forest seeing the forest in a new way, through the eyes of the original people of the Forest. Learn how they hunted the small animals they used for food, what things they gathered, how traps and nets were used.

Whether you're into kayaking between islands, hiking in the hills or chilling out on the beach, Lake Bunyonyi is a truly idyllic retreat. One of the few lakes in Uganda that's safe for swimming, thanks to the absence of hippos and crocodiles, Bunyonyi also lives up to its alluring name, which means Place of Little Birds.
On our boat trip on Lake Bunyonyi this afternoon, you can expect to see traditional fisherssailpast, plenty of birds and possibly an otter.

Lake Mburo National Park is a perfect stopover when driving between Entebbe and the Gorilla Highlands but also a thoroughly worthwhile safari destination in its own right. The lake for which the park is named supports healthy populations of hippo, crocodile and various waterbirds (including the elusive Africanfinfoot), while the surrounding acacia woodlandis hometobuffalo, zebra, giraffe and a wide variety of antelope. Leopards are also seen with increasing frequency towards dusk.
