Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Nyerere National Park. Enjoy spectacular aerial views as you leave the Indian Ocean behind and fly into Tanzania's vast southern wilderness.

Upon arrival at the park's airstrip, your professional safari guide will welcome you and begin your first game drive a full day game drive. Explore the park's diverse landscapes in search of elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, impalas, warthogs, and numerous bird species. The park's remote location and low visitor numbers provide an exclusive safari experience with excellent wildlife viewing.

Guided Bush Walk – Maasai Village Visit – Sunset Boat Safari

Rise early for a guided walking safari (approximately 6:30 AM – 8:30 AM) accompanied by an armed park ranger and experienced guide. Walking through the bush offers a unique opportunity to learn about animal tracks, medicinal plants, birdlife, insects, and the smaller details of the ecosystem often missed on game drives.

Return to camp for breakfast before visiting a nearby Maasai Village (approximately 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM). Meet members of the Maasai community, learn about their traditions, customs, livestock culture, and daily way of life. Enjoy a hot lunch during the excursion at around 1:00 PM.

In the late afternoon, embark on a sunset boat safari on the Rufiji River (approximately 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM). Watch hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks, and abundant birdlife along the riverbanks while enjoying the beautiful sunset over the water.

Flight Back to Zanzibar

Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, your driver will meet you and transfer you back to your hotel, bringing your unforgettable Southern Tanzania safari to a close.
