This was an amazing DAY in The Mara. We saw all this in one day. And did I mention a Black Rhino sighting? Yes. We saw one of the 27ish Black Rhinos in the park. To many birds, flora and fauna to list. I loved the parks I've been to in Tanzania (The Selous & Ruaha), but for shear numbers and volume, The Mara is hands-down the best. Richie is a cool guy, just don't get into a political discussion with him. He's very bright and speaks several languages. He is also, apparently, the best cheetah spotter in the Serengeti ecosystem. Cheers!!!

This is was a wonderful trip with Bison. It was more than expected trip. All that I wanted were fulfilled during this tour. The guides were so experienced on the Masai park route that they will ensure you carry best memories for the life. My guide Joseph gone out of his way to make us experience the wild beast migration and patiently waited till the animals crossing the Masai river. The tent accommodation is more than exiting. All the credit goes to Bison and team who gave us these moments to me. Anytime I recommend Bison if someone is planning a grip to Kenya.

We arrived after 02 days of rain in the region, so everything as green and fresh, the reserve looked like a golf course. We stayed at a nature camp (Mara Eden) on the Mara River bank and could count hippos and crocodiles and hear them during the night). Such a immersion in nature!

This was my first trip to Kenya and Masai MaraNational Reserve. I did not expect to so many different and rare species. The first day, just after 10 minutes away from the camp, Masai Mara Game Camp, a black rihno suddenly came of a bush! What a big and beautuful animale.
I did se about 16 lions, males, females og small lion cubs. As you can see in my photos - I did see almost every animals that lives in the area. It was just so breathtaking and I would definetely come back til Kenya and Masai Mara!
Masai Mara is a fantastic National Reserve. The smell form the savannah, a long view and animals all over the area. It is quite but still full og life. I was am humbled to experience the nature as close as I did. Our guide and driver did tell us about the environment and how the kenyansian people is aware and try to protect killing of elephants, rhino and other rare species.

Simply the best experience of birding and wholesome wildlife watching in all of Kenya. We got to see the big cats, elephants, all kinds of herbivores and such a rich variety of birds. The camps are inside the Reserve and even the stay in the camps gets you so close to the wildlife. We stayed by a camp at River Talek and saw a leopard while walking to the restaurant for dinner! What an amazing abundance of diverse wildlife!

I can't totally see why this is considered the top wildlife park in Africa, it is truly spectacular! The animals are almost too easy to spot! The beauty of the landscape is incredible, but it is a bit blemished by the hundreds of safari vehicles doting the landscape. The Masai farmers also put a bit of a damper on the bush vibe, riding around with their motercycles and leading huge herds of cattle around and into the park, but even with the overcrowding of tourists and the pollution from the local villages, the Mara shines as arguably the best and most beautiful park in Africa! So many animals and the lodges are superb, the people could not be nicer, and the wildlife viewing is some of the best in the world, biggest downer on the park is the lack of the endangered African wild dog, which is the crown jewel of wildlife enthusiasts everywhere, it is saddly almost never spotted in the park.

Beautiful landscapes, and we saw the big 5 (lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, buffalo) plus everything else - cheetahs, giraffes, wildebeest, hyena, warthogs, hippos, crocs, etc. We waited a few hours at the end to see a herd of wildebeest cross the Mara River. July and August is the best time to go to the Mara to see the wildebeest migration and cats hunting. We saw lions, cheetahs, and leopards with fresh kills. It's the dry season so more animals are out and about at the watering holes. The Masai are graceful with their bright red cloaks and kind to the tourists. We didn't do the cultural visit to the Masai village because another guest told us that you have to pay extra to get in, and it was mostly uncomfortable situations of them pressuring you to buy souvenirs or donate more money. You can hang out with Masai at the camps anyways.

your tent. There are Masai workers at the camp that make a campfire at night who are nice and fun to talk to. Some other tourists even bought a goat from the Masai and roasted it over the fire. Just make sure you leave your tent zipped so the baboons don't get in at night. No locks on the tents. Dinner and breakfast buffets were hot and tasty, and also had fruit, tea, hot chocolate, and beer. Only the packed lunch they gave us for the safari day was rubbish - sandwich with dry bread and a few slices of tomato - come on. Inedible. Luckily I had taken some extra breakfast with me. The camp runs a generator for a few hours so you can have lights and charge your phone.
The only critique is that many of the dirt roads are absolutely horrible and I'm surprised our big safari van made it through most of them. Even the roads outside the park coming from Nairobi practically gave me a stroke from the vibration, bouncing, and noise. Also during the high season, there are a lot of safari vans swarming around the animals, which is a bit annoying, but understandable.
