Have been both during and after the "great herd migration". Wonderful for both wildlife (all the big 5 plus cheetahs, hippos, and more) and local Masaai village visits. The accommodations were lovely. Don't remember where we stayed the 1st time, but the 2nd was associated with the Fairmont hotels.

The real African safari experience - rough journey, wonderful accomodation on arrival, all the Big Game, fabulous scenery, - day-to-day life & death to be seen on every game-drive. (I don't know what Tanzania could offer that the Masai Mara doesn't). If driving yourself, beware you are not permitted to go off track. The game-rangers are really strict.

The best of the best. The classic safari experience not to be missed. If you have only one place to go on safari go to Masai Mara.

Kenya meet all my expectations on accommodations, services, guides, drivers, food, and specially on the safaris. I think the most important think is do arrangements with a local company plenty of experience.
