A beautiful stop to relax and do some game viewing and birding

Lake Mburo makes a perfect stop on the way to Entebbe when your'e coming from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. It's beautiful national park which offers excellent opportunities for bird watching. The wildlife may be described as "light" but it's improving thanks to the relocation of 19 Rothschild's giraffes.

You will not see the lions here but the horseback safari is a unique feature here and the landscape is breathtaking!

Lake Mburo wasn't as beautiful as other parts of Uganda but we had just come from "the Lakes" area of the country so we had a rather skewed view. Lake Mburo has a lot of zebras and antelope, which were fun to see. It's a good stopover between Bwindi and Kampala, but probably not someplace I would go out of my way to see.

Very pretty and serene. The safari is finished off with accommodation right by Lake Edward, and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

Great stopover
Overall rating
4/5

I asumed it was going to be a mediocre experience with just a good location but it ended up having a nice variety of animals: zebras, giraffes, impalas, topis, waterbucks, warthogs, monkeys and ankoles. Not the usual big 5 but very enjoyable nonetheless. Convinced my guide to drive by since I had some hours to spare on my way to the airport and it was delightful. Great stopover to complement what I had already seen.

Some sceneries were amazing while other sections of the park were too bushy, but they seem to be "taking care" of that since there were big chunks of the side-road having been burned down, or something like the sort. Roads were bad.
