Three unforgettable days — highly recommended!
I came back from this safari more than a month ago, and I still think about it every single day.
As a solo female traveler, I was a bit intimidated at first by the idea of exploring part of Uganda on my own. The main purpose of my trip was to meet a group of friends and visit the southern part of the country together, but I really wanted to explore the north as well. Initially, I was hesitant because the Google reviews I found were all excellent, but mostly related to walking tours in Entebbe and Kampala.
However, I can confidently say that my three-day safari to Ziwa Reserve, Murchison Falls, and Murchison Falls National Park was absolutely incredible.
I also started with relatively low expectations because, among all the quotes I received from different safari companies, this one was the most affordable — about 30% cheaper than other operators. But I quickly realized there was no reason to worry. Nickson and Lorand, my guide, were extremely professional, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire process.
I had booked a shared tour, but due to a date change by the other guests, I ended up being the only traveler — and Lorand made me feel like a true queen. During the drives, he shared his deep knowledge of the country and his experience as a safari guide. At each stop, he proved to be very competent and well connected with local operators. For every activity, we were accompanied by armed rangers who guided us safely through the safaris.
The night safari, in particular, was unforgettable: we saw two leopards, two genets, five lionesses with four cubs, and much more. It was truly magical.
I can’t recommend Abantubo enough, and if I return to Uganda, I will definitely contact them again.
Until next time!
Very friendly group, great personality, and make you feel very safe and welcomed
My family have the most wonderful time in Uganda. Much of it has to do with your safari guides. We are so grateful for the adventures we got to embark on with our tour guides Allanie(a great story teller, a fun personality, Deus (who looked after me like an older brother and always asked how I was doing, and Lorand(who wished me a good morning every morning). They are very personable and friendly and delighted us with wonderful stories about the animals and Uganda. They were great communicators and finding animals from leopards hiding in trees, lions in bushes, hippos, elephants, and many more. We felt very safe and well cared for. They went the extra mile to show us much of the beauty Uganda has to offer, getting us out of muddy spots, and some of the team even drove eight hours across the country to ensure we got our luggage after a mix up at the airport. Highly recommend this company, and they will surely leaving you wanting to come back to Uganda as they helped me leave a piece of my heart there. You will not regret it.
Wonderful, professional service done with love!
Just returned from our trip to Uganda! It was an unforgettable experience and the tour guides did everything with heart and with excellence! They even provided extra services that was not already agreed-upon, and went to the extra mile to serve us. We loved the tour guides and a the tour leader.
Jinja Adventure
I booked another trip with Abantubo Safari, this time going to Jinja city. I requested for a female guide and Nickson paired me with Massy. She was such a great company. No dull moment with her the entire trip. We had a comfortable car despite the road conditions. Learned so much about the railway history of Uganda and the neighbouring countries. Visited the source of river Nile and managed to do some bird watching along the river while we had back to the mainland for sunset cruise. I had an epic white water rafting, definitely an activity that should not be missed when in Jinja. Went around the city for some local food and local experience. Spent amazing time with the locals. Massy was very helpful with translating and negotiating costs. Overall, my Jinja trip was the highlight of my Uganda experience.

Excellent from start to finish
Before and after booking, we received good and quick answers to our questions, payment worked without problems via payment link.
We had some adjustments with where we wanted to be picked up and dropped off after booking, no problems changing.
Our driver Emanuel was very good to talk to and told us things along the way.
1-Day Jinja Trip + 1-Day Shoebill and Bird Watching Entebbe
At each stop we had a local guide who was knowledgeable and good to talk to.
We came in the middle of the evening traffic past Kampala on the way back from Jinja, but there is not much to do about it, it is just the way it is. (We asked Emanuel to give us 15 minutes to buy food on the way back, so we solved dinner smoothly that way.)
We had a Toyota Landcruiser 4x4 that is reliable, but there were no challenging roads we drove on (expect some pot-holes) but still safe with a proper car that is comfortable to ride in. (And Emanuel could overtake quite alot of cars using the ditch/edge of the road :) )
I can highly recommend Abantubo Safaris!
