Amazing experience - absolutely recommended

My friend and I went on a camping safari in Tanzania and it was an incredibly great experience! From start to finish everything was super organised so we could enjoy the trip to the fullest.

We would especially like to highlight our guide Damian, who was not only very friendly and funny, but... Read more also extremely competent - he knows the national parks very well and has always tried to find the best spots to see animals. In addition, we had a great chef, Jeremiah, who spoiled us during the safari with super delicious food!

In the national parks we have experienced many unforgettable and special moments that will remain in our memory forever. We could see all Big 5! Camping in the middle of nature and all the animals was an absolute adventure. In addition, we were very lucky with our group, which made the trip even more beautiful.

We can really recommend this safari to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable experience!

Let’s begin with our guide and driver, Adam. His care, attentiveness, and patience were both heartwarming and deeply reassuring. Adam greeted us each day with a smile and consistently went above and beyond to ensure... Read more our comfort and safety. Most importantly, he positioned us perfectly to witness the breathtaking moments that define safari game viewing. While wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, Adam’s persistence and expertise undoubtedly helped us spot all of the Big Five. I can’t speak highly enough of him—not just as a guide, but as a genuinely kind and thoughtful person. His warm, friendly demeanor left a lasting impression. I’ll miss him and will always carry that memory with me.

The accommodations throughout our journey were another standout. Each one had its own unique charm, yet all delivered exceptional comfort and service. Of them all, Boma Lodge was my favorite—possibly the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. And that’s saying something, as I’ve traveled extensively across the globe. The only downside? I didn’t stay long enough. I’m already planning to return for a longer visit.

Food is often a concern when traveling with dietary restrictions, and as someone who follows a plant-forward diet, I was prepared for limited options. To my surprise, Suricata far exceeded expectations in this area. The variety, taste, and quality of plant-based dishes were consistently excellent. Both my travel partner and I raved about the meals, and when we made special requests, the team was quick to accommodate. It made me feel truly cared for, not just managed.

Equally impressive was the communication from Suricata’s team. From our first inquiry to the final day of the trip, every interaction was prompt, clear, and helpful. Planning a trip of this magnitude can be daunting, but their professionalism made the entire process feel seamless and stress-free.

After careful research—comparing reviews, TripAdvisor awards, and multiple safari companies—Suricata emerged as a top contender. Now that I’ve experienced their service firsthand, I can say they didn’t just meet expectations—they exceeded them in every way. This was a first-class experience from start to finish, and Suricata has truly earned its reputation as one of the best in the business.

We had the most amazing time with Suricata!

We did a 3 night/ 4 day experience and it was incredible. The lodges that we stayed in were clean, well presented and exceptional service from all the staff. We wish we could have stayed longer in each lodge.

Melita was our guide during... Read more our safari and he was brilliant. He was full of knowledge on all animals we saw and credit to him for knowing his way around the parks and driving us safely wherever we went.

We also want to give praise to Daniel who gave us a briefing before and after the safari, we really appreciate him taking the time to come greet us and provide information and feedback. We thought this was a really good touch from the business to get feedback after the safari.

All in all I highly recommend Suricata for your safari experience we had the best time and hope to do this again in the future!

From the very beginning, Suricata impressed with their organization and hospitality. Even before arriving in Tanzania, I felt taken care of. Communication before the trip was smooth and informative, and the tour started right on schedule. The vehicle was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for game drives and also had charging ports, which was an unexpected bonus!

Our guide, Damien, was exceptional. His knowledge of wildlife and the parks was outstanding. He had an incredible eye for spotting animals—even from unbelievable distances—and was always patient, making sure everyone got the best views and photos. Thanks to him, we saw the Big Five, lions up close, elephants with their young, and even a rare rhino sighting in the Crater. Beyond the animals, Damien was just a joy to be around—funny, kind, and a true professional who always put our experience first.

Equally impressive was Jeremiah, our camp chef. Every meal he prepared was delicious and varied, from hearty breakfasts to satisfying dinners that felt like home-cooked feasts in the wild.

The itinerary itself was perfectly paced. Lake Manyara was a great starting point with its lush scenery and tree-climbing lions. The Serengeti was the absolute highlight—vast, wild, and teeming with life. Ngorongoro Crater offered dramatic landscapes and unique encounters in a more condensed setting. Tarangire, with its iconic baobabs and huge elephant herds, was the perfect way to close out the journey.

I was fortunate enough to be able to do a camping safari. Falling asleep to the sounds of wildlife was both humbling and magical and quite the experience!

This safari exceeded every expectation I had. If you’re considering Suricata Safaris, do not hesitate—ask for Damien and hope you get lucky enough to have Jeremiah in the kitchen. They are a dream team, and they made this adventure something I will remember for the rest of my life!
