One of the best
This is a wonderful chance to see Namibia and Botswana, and although some of the journeys were long we got great insights into the very different landscapes from the arid southern areas to coast and on to the wetter north and the Falls. The wildlife viewing was exceptional – I did not expect to see both black and white Rhinos – bird life abundant, in fact everything you could hope to see. The excursions worked out well, and the couple of optional ones were well worth it.
Generally the lodges were extremely good, as was the food, but when staying inside Etosha there is a compromise, these are state run and are not up to the standard we were used to, but then it was worth it to get a head start.
Guides Colin and Edwin were superb, calm, thoughtful, helpful and clear with information and good fun to be with, they became part of our very happy group. I hope they felt the same about us.
The group of twelve was well balanced and we got on very well, I feel we all made friends very quickly and everyone pitched in.
It's not a luxury trip – some of the roads are rough – but I would happily recommend this trip to anyone who wants to explore and learn.
I would happily use Sunway again.

Adventurous
Hectic but worth it all the way. Namibia was simply outstanding. Corteous and professional guides/drivers. Lived to our expectations
Memorable lifetime experience
I did the 21 days Under Canvas Camping started from Cape Town to Vic Falls in Aug-Sep 2025.
Our guides are Maxwell (Max) and Xhaka.
We were a diverse group ranging from age group 20s to 70s from 4 different countries.
The red multifunction vehicle grabs attention everywhere we go :) There was always a full crate of fruits and books in the vehicle, which were great especially for some days with long hours of travel on the road.
Both Max and Xhaka were committed and passionate to provide us the experiences and bring us to places included in the itinerary. But what was even more amazing were their knowledge and insights to the living, cultural, botanical and geographical aspects shared with us which made the experiences more impactful. These are real values added to the adventures.
Understandably, they can' t guarantee how many or which animals we would see, but their eagerness to look out for the animals and plants were very much appreciated. They both complimented each other very well. It was impressive how both managed to prepare meals just so effortlessly yet tasted better than in the restaurants we went to.
Xhaka’s intelligence, calm and collected demeanour made the group felt relaxed in all situations. He always manages to bring fun to the team. He is very well spoken and gelled very well with everyone in the team despite our diverse background.
Max was an excellent driver, managing the harsh conditions on the road and looking out for animals for us at the same time. He maintained and took care of any issues with the vehicle very well, leaving us safe on the road. He has many stories to share from his experiences, and very passionate about his job.
In those places where we did have a local guide, they were also great, especially those in the Okavango Delta. It was so much more meaningful to be able to interact with the poler learning about their way of living and their language.
Thankful to them for sharing their way of living and resources with us.
Overall, for me this trip is excellent for those who want varieties, learn about different places, about local cultures and connect with the nature. Being on a camping trip, the guides played a vital role as they were the 2 people we need to feel safe, trust and reliable with their professionalism and knowledge. To most, especially the first-time travellers to Africa, the guides were the reflections of the hospitality and nature of the people here. I am glad Sunway brought in guides with their own unique personalities but yet professional and helpful making the trip lots of fun, played a big part in making the trip such an amazing experience. They worked very hard to help us whenever needed, ensure our safety going places and connect with each other.
Camping equipment were in good condition. Places we stayed were mostly basic but clean and were reasonable with the price paid for the trip.
Thank you for showing us the Southern African hospitality, openness and a well-planned trip.

It was an adventurous safari for people keen to discover the African nature.
As we looked for a reliable and not too expensive trip, Sunway seemed like a very good choice. And it did not disappoint! We experienced Africa to the fullest during the wild camping - an adventure that we really hoped for. It is not a trip for people that don't enjoy getting dirty or sweaty but a perfect option for Travellers. I would not hesitate to do it again!

A tour with Sunway Safaris is an amazing adventure
Even if I wanted to, I could not find anything negative to write about my tour with Sunway Safaris. For me, it was the trip of a lifetime. I got to know some amazing new places, learn about different cultures and connect with the other people on my trip. Being on a camping trip, I felt very connected to the nature around me and that I was able to explore the country in a closer way. It truly was an adventure with lots of breathtaking landscapes, fun trips, interesting animals and so much more. My guides, who were very professional and knowledgeable but also lots of fun, played a big part in making the trip such an amazing experience. They worked very hard to help us whenever needed and to bring us safely from one place to the next. The size of the group I travelled with was perfect. If we had been any more, I don’t think I would’ve been able to make such strong connections to my group members. I also felt like I got all my moneys worth on the trip. Considering the amount of food we got provided with, the included national park entrance fees, the included activities and the amount of driving we did, I would say the price of the trip was absolutely fair. Booking the trip was very simple and I always got fast and helpful answers to my questions.
I can definitely recommend booking a trip with Sunway Safaris. I am left with some incredible memories and can’t wait for my next trip with them.
