Honestly where do I even begin - what an amazing experience! Winnie was incredible with finding the perfect itinerary, Isaiah who picked us up at the airport showed us Dar es Salaaam and is an incredibly kind and knowledgeable guy, Jackson was such an insanely competent safari driver (on our private... Read more tour, he managed to get us within 2 metres (!!!) of a big lion, and we got to see an elephant baby being breastfed), and everyone else was amazing as well - the stay they had arranged for us in Camp Bastian was amazing for us, and Winnie had even made sure that the kitchen (and even the bar where Edgar the barman was making the most amazing cocktails!!!) was open when we arrived late because we didn’t catch the earlier train. Booking with Kihindo is the easiest decision you’ll ever make… they’re so good one of their previous guests (a famous singer from the Baltics) even made a song about them!!

I took the one-day safari to Mikumi. The team at Kihindo was extremely professional and friendly, ensuring you are well looked after and that your visit is memorable. My trip ran very smoothly and could always count on someone to get information. I believe the package offers good value for money. I actually had the whole car to myself and Jackson my guide ensured I ticked all the sight seeing list. Thank you!

If you’re thinking about booking a safari in Tanzania — do it with this company. I honestly don’t even know where to start because everything was absolutely perfect from day one.
First of all, a huge thanks to Winnie, who organized the entire trip. From the very beginning, communication was smooth,... Read more friendly, and professional. Winnie somehow managed to understand exactly what we were looking for — even without meeting us! And not only that, I even got 4 different specific offers (with day by day itinerary) about the safari options and she was insanely understanding and helpful. When I mentioned I really wanted to see lions, she suggested swapping parks and going to Ruaha instead of Mikumi and i was really grateful for that. Best decision ever! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a place more beautiful and raw than Ruaha.
The accommodation she arranged was unforgettable. Sleeping in an open hut by the river, falling asleep to the sounds of hippos and lions — that’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. And the lodge up in the hills? Way beyond anything I expected — stunning views, incredible food, and such a peaceful atmosphere.
Now, about our guides — Willy and K.P. Master— I can’t praise them enough! Willy did most of the driving and I felt completely safe the entire time, even on the bumpiest roads. K.P. has the eyes of a hawk and no animal could hide from him! Thanks to them, we spotted 4 out of the Big 5 within just a few hours of out first day in Mikumi, plus so many other animals I never imagined seeing up close. But what truly made them special was more than just their guiding skills. They were always full of energy (despite waking up super early every day), kind, open, and so knowledgeable, not just about wildlife, but also about Tanzanian culture, daily life, and traditions. We had amazing conversations comparing life in Tanzania and Slovenia, and I learned so much more than I expected.
This wasn’t just a safari, it was a full experience that touched every sense and left me with memories (and stories) for a lifetime.
