Incredible 5 day adventure with Safari soles and Oscar!!
We had a wonderful time on the 5 day safari covering Serengeti. The planning process was easy enough, very responsive agents. We did the fly in safari starting in Northern Serengeti. Oscar our guide, was there to greet us and he made our game drives memorable. We learnt a lot about wildlife, the ecosystem from him. He is very knowledgeable, uses his connections to spot the wildlife. He was very patient with us, took great care of us during the drives every single day. There are different choices of lodges and the ones that were recommended by Safari Soles met our expectations. Serengeti is a big area compared to Masai Mara or Kruger, so the only thing I may have changed is added may be a couple of more days to get little more time to relax at the lodges. Overall a fantastic trip and cant recommend Oscar enough!! Thank you Safari Soles and Oscar.
Truly incredible and unforgettable 10 day safari experience, with Safari Soles and Christian!
Truly incredible 10 day safari experience. One I won’t ever forget. I can’t recommend Safari Soles highly enough. Book with them and request Christian as your guide! They are very organised, everything ran smoothly and it was truly a special trip!
Safari Soles have top of the range and new land cruisers, which are so comfortable and which I was obsessed with and wanted one myself!
As a solo female traveller it was very difficult to choose from the overwhelming excellent number of safari companies northern Tanzania has to offer, but I was extremely happy with Safari Soles. I had made a fantastic choice. A big shout out to Gladness who was so helpful, patient and reassuring in organising the whole itinerary. I visited Tarangire national park (highest concentration of African elephants), Lake Manyara (excellent for birds I saw such a variety), Arusha NP & Central, northern and western Serengeti. Out of so many companies Gladness was the one who made me feel most at ease, the most reassuring, and was able to build and adapt a safari itinerary for me based on my preferences and bduget, especially as a birder and wildlife photographer, I wanted to maximise the time in the Serengeti as much as possible and she made this happen. She was always honest, calm and listened carefully. Asante sana sana dada. I also liked that we were able to communicate on the phone via whatsapp, thank you for everything you did. Shout out also to Kilian who picked me up from the airport and gave me a guided tour of Arusha town and the local markets. He is so kind and helpful and went out of his way to find me a Tanzania bracelet and called his office to make sure there was a surprise birthday cake for me out in the Serengeti. Asante sana sana. All the accommodations chosen by Safari Soles were great for me, all the staff were always so welcoming and down to earth. I especially enjoyed staying at the Mbuni tented lodge in central Serengeti. The staff there are so lovely. Just sleeping out amongst nature is very special and the tented lodge is gorgeous, comfortable and has everything you need.
My highest praise of my trip must go to my guide Christian. An experienced and exceptionally skilled driver, his knowledge and passion on wildlife, the national parks and local culture. From the moment I met Christian we got along instantly. He has the biggest heart, kind, down to earth, funny, professional, reliable and full of charm. He has an infectious smile, is thoughtful and always made me feel safe and comfortable. He was impressed that I had attempted to learn Swahili and it was great to have him teach and practice the language with me throughout the trip. Asante sana sana. Wewe ni nyumbu? Haha. I was fortunate last year to be on safari in Namibia and Botswana and although the guides there were also great, Christian was incredible. He has a good eye and was able to spot wildlife very easily, had excellent knowledge about the mammals and birds and I learnt many new facts about how they all interacted and socialised. He just illuminates happiness and passion for his work.
Safari soles and Christian have a stand out land cruiser vehicle, brand new and in a unique stand out mint green colour which is so beautiful. It’s very comfortable, fridge, space to move around and has air conditioning too! We had other guides and tourists comment on how nice the land cruiser was as it was new. I felt very lucky! We had no issues at all. Christian is such an excellent driver, he could navigate the bumpy roads and areas of the Serengeti and all of the national parks such as Tarangire and lake Manyara so easily and carefully, nothing phased him. He could anticipate wildlife movement and crossings so naturally which enabled him to manoeuvre the vehicle so carefully and easily to make sure you had the best sighting of the wildlife but also in a respectful and sustainable way for the wildlife. Which I greatly appreciated. He is well experienced and navigated the roughest of roads so smoothly. You knew you had a special person and guide when other safari vehicles would stop and ask him in particular for directions or tips. How he navigated the vast Serengeti without any map at all just blows my mind! He is also meticulous in keeping the land cruiser clean and in top condition every day. He cared deeply about how he presented the vehicle or when he set up the lunchtime Serengeti picnic spots. Safari Soles is one very very lucky company to have such an incredible and caring person and guide working for them.
Thanks to Christian, the amount of mammals and birds I saw was never ending! I couldn’t keep up with my specific note taking list! We visited many areas of the Serengeti, I wasn't expecting to see as much as I did, knowing these animals are wild in such a vast space! It is a blessing. I called Christian my lucky charm because with him, we saw such incredible wildlife encounters. We saw the big 5, small 5, pretty 5 and more, 5 leopards, 4 rhinos in Ngorongoro crater , Wildebeest migration, the tree climbing lions in Manyara NP (which other guides noted are very hard and rare to see) and even the leopard shell tortoise. So many special moments such as watching the sunset with 3 male lions by our side, seeing a mother cheetah with her four cute cubs and waiting patiently to see a leopard with her two young cubs. I love big cats so having the opportunity to sit and observe them in the wild where they truly belong was just so magical and quite emotional. Christian is so patient, especially as I wanted time to observe and photograph birds (which he has probably seen a million times) he never once rushed me. He works so hard, with so much driving and concentration with back to back safaris and is always so enthusiastic. I don’t know how he does it! He also made sure my birthday in the Serengeti was extra special by having a birthday cake amongst the wildlife and maximised my time with animals as much as possible. It was the best birthday I had ever had. Asante sana sana Chris. These are moments we will treasure forever. If Chris is your guide you are very very lucky!! He is the BEST!
I can’t recommend Safari Soles and Christian highly enough. If you opt to do safari with them, you will not be disappointed. When I return to the Serengeti I will be going with Safari Soles again and request for Christian. I have included some of MANY incredible photos. Tanzania is a beautiful country and the Serengeti is just so special. You will have such a great experience. Tanzania na Serengeti ni nzuri Sana Kabisa. Asanteni sana kwa kila kitu, timu ya Safari Soles.

Reliable, personal and flexible: Soles turns every safari into an unforgettable experiencE
From the Serengeti to the Stars — An Unforgettable Safari
Our Tanzanian safari with Soles Tours was an extraordinary experience, not only because of the places and wildlife we encountered, but above all because of the people who made us experience them in the best possible way.
From our very first email, Joachim was always there: kind, professional, precise and incredibly responsive. He understood our wishes very quickly and helped us shape a truly personalized journey, always adapting the programme to our requests with impressive flexibility. His support continued throughout the trip, right up to the wonderful surprise of finding him waiting for us at the airport in Zanzibar to say goodbye. That level of personal attention is something we will remember.
And then there was Silas, an exceptional guide in every sense. Discreet, friendly, patient and extremely knowledgeable, he has a unique ability to make you understand Tanzania rather than simply see it. He doesn’t just point out an animal: he tells you its story, explains its character, behaviour and social relationships, and makes you appreciate what is happening in front of you.
Some of our most unforgettable moments were watching a lioness hunting, an elephant nursing its calf, a lion on his honeymoon with lionesses, a lunch under an acacia tree in the middle of nowhere in savana and a tiny buffalo calf that the whole herd patiently waited for. These were not simply sightings: Silas’ experience and sensitivity allowed us to understand what we were witnessing and made each scene much more meaningful.
His knowledge of the Serengeti was also fundamental in allowing us to experience the Great Migration and the river crossing at their best. And seeing both a white rhinoceros and a black rhinoceros was another extraordinary highlight. His ability to read the landscape, anticipate animal behaviour and position the vehicle safely and respectfully made an enormous difference.
Silas was equally impressive behind the wheel: calm, safe and extremely confident on Tanzania’s roads and tracks, including some very demanding stretches. We always felt completely in safe hands.
One of the experiences we loved most was actually very different from the classic safari: the cultural tour of Mto wa Mbu by bicycle, organized by Soles. Riding through the village with Pascal and his wonderfully sweet colleague gave us genuine human contact and the opportunity to meet Tanzania beyond the wildlife and landscapes. It was probably the experience that best represented what we came to love about this country: the people.
The lodges were another highlight — beautifully chosen and often spectacular. Sleeping under the African sky, seeing the Milky Way in all its glory, and then hearing the roar of a lion during the night are among the memories we will carry with us forever.
What impressed us most about Soles was the combination of absolute reliability and genuine human warmth. Every part of the programme was punctual, precise and well organized, yet nothing ever felt rigid. They were always ready to listen, adapt and personalize the journey according to our needs.
After travelling extensively and having experienced many different trips, we can honestly say that Soles Tours gave us much more than a safari. They gave us the opportunity to experience Tanzania through its landscapes, its wildlife and, above all, its people.
A special thank you to Joachim and Silas. You made our journey truly unforgettable.

Fantastic Game Drive
Fantastic Game Drive
Our 4-night safari with Kenedy was an unforgettable experience. He is an exceptional guide who made every game drive exciting and rewarding. Thanks to his incredible knowledge, sharp eye, and experience, we were able to spot an amazing variety of wildlife in Tanzania's most beautiful national parks. He always knew where to go to maximize our chances of seeing animals and took the time to explain their behavior, as well as the history and nature of each park. We learned so much while having an incredible time. Kenedy was professional, friendly, patient, and passionate about his work, making our safari even more special. We couldn't have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable safari experience in Tanzania. Thank you, Kenedy, for the amazing memories!
