Simply wonderful!
We booked a three-day tour at very short notice. The pre-trip communication with Marice from Lilac Camp was fantastic. She made everything we had planned possible.
The drive from Dar es Salaam to the camp was fantastic. Our driver made a short stop during the trip so we could see giraffes and monkeys along the road.
When we arrived at Lilac Camp, we received a very warm welcome. Our lodge was wonderful! Surrounded by nature, completely isolated. The lodge was simple but with great attention to detail.
Our trip to a Maasai village was unforgettable. The tour through the village, the stories, and also the customs – wonderful!
On the second day, we went on a safari early in the morning. Our guide and driver made it possible for us to see all the animals up close. It was a tour just for the two of us, which made it all the more enjoyable! The whole drive left us speechless.
The third day was a truly special one. We drove to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Here, too, we were well looked after throughout! Our guide told us so much about the national park and left no questions unanswered. We'll certainly never forget the view of the waterfall!
We will always remember the entire experience. Highly recommended! Thanks to the entire team!

Rough land but warm and gentle people and luxorios rooms – Magic
From the moment we arrived at the camp, we were treated like royalty. The staff were absolutely incredible – warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our stay unforgettable. Every tent had its own dedicated Maasai guard, watching over us day and night, adding both a sense of safety and authenticity to the experience.
The tents themselves? Pure magic. Built with natural bamboo, high ceilings, and thoughtful design touches – like being able to watch the sunset from the bathtub or toilet! Waking up to views of the distant mountains, surrounded by the wild sounds of nature, was something I’ll never forget.
Meals were a highlight in themselves – delicious, fresh, and served in the most breathtaking setting imaginable. One day we dined in the middle of an open field in the savannah, with just our small group of four. You couldn’t even see the other tents, which made it feel like we had the whole of Mikumi to ourselves.
Evenings were spent around the campfire, dancing and singing “Hakuna Matata” under the stars – a moment of pure joy and connection.

Lifetime experience
We did a 3 day tour in Mikumi national park. It was worth all the money. Excellent guid Saloniki knew so much about wildlife and nature. We learned so much from him. This travel company is very helpfull flexibel and the communication is very accurate and quick from booking till guiding. The pickup by Adam and Issaye who always connacted online. I would definitly recommend this agency

Fantastic efficient company
We did safari in mikumi national park last week, our guide William was just brilliant, entertaining, and extremely knowledgeable about everything in the park. The accommodation was better than I expected. Over all I would rate Camp Lilac Mikumi 10out of 10.

Fantastic operator! True value for money, exciting program and very experienced and friendly staff.
We booked the 3-day safari tour in Nyerere National Park and it exceeded all of our expectations. The communication before our trip already was great, we received answers to any questions or changes in our plans within minutes.
The trip itself was absolutely unforgettable. The biggest plus would be that we had a private safari with just the 3 of us, not having to share transport or accommodation with a big group of other tourists - which made it more special and easier to move. The trip from Dar Es Salaam to the national park was already enjoyable, driving through the country with our experienced and fun guide Aberi who could tell us everything about Tanzania, culture and nature in specific. The lodge was incredible, offering us separate cabins with much space, privacy and comfort. The meals in the lodge were also great and their staff very friendly.
The itinerary was well curated - offering boat safari one afternoon, game drive the next day, closing off with a bush walk on the final day. I also liked the fact we could adjust the planning somewhat to our liking as we had a private safari.
Aberi knew a lot about the park and the animals, trees and plants. Because of his experience it didn't take long before we saw hippo's, lions, elephants and giraffe's and we managed to come really close. We all felt really safe because we were in the hands of people who work in these parks for many years and we were always accompanied by rangers or a guide.
All in all, would highly recommend to anyone traveling there!
